Best poker book to buy?

What are your reccomendations for a poker book? Should I get doyle's? If so, which one?

I play mostly holdem and would like it to cover both online and real games. TIA

  • Uh-oh. I think you just put BBC Z on major tilt.

Try a forum search for some combination of the words (poker, book, books, recommendations, advice) and you should find some good threads.

Book recommendations depend a lot on your experience level, exact type of poker games you play (micro-limit, low-limit or higher-limit, cash games or tournaments, etc), and what you've read/learned about poker already.

I read his poker book and his theory is to concentrate on the cards you want and they will come.... and if they don't BLUFF

Maybe we should make a reader review section for poker books, as it seems that at least once a week some one comes and asks what is a good book.

I think that that this is an excellent idea!!
  • There's a great No Limit book by Jason Ritledge... the name escapes me, but highly recommended
