What about 70's movies?

There was some really good ones in that decade. Did anyone see Black Belt Jones? What about Warriers?

  • I think that Dirty Harry is a classic.

"I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you got to ask yourself one question... Do I feel lucky. Well, do ya punk?"
  • There is no 70's film better than the Godfather. Period. There are a lot of good films, but that one is head and shoulders above the rest.

"My father assured him that either his brains, or his signature, would be on that contract."
  • If Threes Company was a movie...then that would have been my fav....does that count?
  • Three's Company. That's funny. We need to start a TV Show thread.

    As for actual movies:

    Apocolypse Now
    The Godfather I, II
Rocky (and to a lesser extent Rocky II)
    Star Wars (well, duh)
  • Hey sloth it is your site so you make the rules. So i guess three's company counts.

It would awesome to make a modern remake of this show, whether movie or TV. :)

    Starring:

    Jim Carrey as Jack
    Cameron Diaz as Crissy
    Catherine Zeta-Jones as Janet
    Steve Buscemi as Larry

    and featuring
    Don Knotts as Mr. Furley

  • Even more surprising than Don Knotts!  I'll see any movie with Buscemi.

  • Star Trek: The Motion Picture

Arguably the worst of the series, but the only one which falls in the 70's. More to the point, one of the only movies I've even seen from the 70's.

  • The original Rollerball was 70s wasn't it. A shame what they did in the remake.
  • The 70's was a great movie era!

Along with the movies listed already, I'll add anything that Eastwood did in the 70's, anything that McQueen did in the 70's, and anything that Nicholson did in the 70's with a special shout out for "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest".
