Teddy KGB's tell

Well? What is/was it? Is it that he "listens" to his Oreo when he has the nuts? Does he unscrew it clockwise or counterclockwise depending if he holds a loser or not?

  • He eats the cookie when he has a made hand (or at least a good hand), but he puts it back in the rack when he is weak. Great, now I want an Oreo Blizzard! Thanks a lot.

    :)
  • when he is weak the cream breaks off onto both pieces. when he is strong the cream is on only 1 half.

  • P.S. the steadiness of his hands/nerves.

    Correct imo.

    That's my vote too.

  • I thought that the Oreos bit was digitally modified in the Rounders Special Edition, Jabba the Hut going for a stroll (or a slide?) with Han/cooler Death Star explosion style.

In the new edition, he still goes ahead and separates the Oreo pieces and puts them down in the chip rack when he has a poor hand. However, when he has a monster hand I believe there is additional footage of Teddy KGB firing up a pig roast.

Adds a whole new level to the "Not hungry?" line I think.

  • Good god Scotty! Star Wars + Rounders? I'm still laughing my ass off...
  • does anyone else have the Widescreen DVD? i think they cut off top and bottom instead of adding sides, the part where KGB does his little hump job, you cant see below his waist, and I swear I remember seeing more of him the first time I saw this movie on VHS.

MGM did that with a crapload of DVDS and there was a big class action suit, anyone know if Rounders is like that?
  • Never really paid attention to the 'below the waist' area.
  • KGB's tell is that he listens to the cookie open when he has the good/made hand. He watches the Oreo open when he has the weak hands.

There are three times in the movie when you see him with the cookies:

    1. Opening Game when Mike goes broke. KGB listens to the cookie with A-A.

    2. First hand in the last game. Mike has K-K. He makes it $1000. KGB raises to $6000. Mike goes all in. KGB watches the cookie and then mucks.

    3. Hand where the board is A-3-5. Mike has A-5. He goes to bet and sees KGB listen to the cookie open. He's made the tell and lays down the monster top two. KGB realizes he's been caught and tosses the rack of Oreos at Gramma.

    Anyone disagree???

Yes :).  See my post from earlier in this thread.  He eats the cookie with a strong/made hand, and puts it back in the rack when he is weak.
  • 13Cards is definetly right.
  • dammit, I'm watching this again tonight!!!! while eating an oreo blizzard!
  • His tell is sort of phychological.

When TEDDY eats the OREO, he is phychologically DEVOURING his opponent with a monster hand. When he doesn't he isn't. EASY PEASY!
