2005 Degree Poker Championship - another chance
I know I am probably severely decreasing my odds at getting into the Degree Poker Championship at Casino Fallsview by posting this, but since I know everyone who reads and takes action on this is as serious about the game as I am; and there are a lot of people saddened, as I am, that they did not get an invite through the draw ...
Casino Fallsview is holding an in-house draw on 06/13/05 17:30 EST from all eligible ballots received. They are drawing an additional fifty (50) names from that extraordinary large drum they have for seats to the Degree Poker Championship.
My friend received a 'comp coupon' in his monthly casino newsletter offering him a ballot. He 'cashed' it in and gave me his. The ballot is just blank fields. It gives me the impression that anyone who has a ballot can enter. It does ask for you PAC (Players Advantage card) number though. Those are free to get if needed. I would suggest to anyone within decent driving distance to go to the casino and request a ballot. It may be worth more than its weight in gold!
I have yet to drop off the ballot so I do not know the entire set of posted rules. I plan to stop by tomorrow night or the night after and drop off my ballot and read the rules. If there is anything pertantent (like it being necessary to be at the draw to win a seat, etc.), I will post that here.
Good luck to all!

OK, here are the details, sorry they are a bit late...
They are going to draw 300 names this Monday 06-13-05 at 1730 from all eligible entries received. They will call by phone the first 100. Those 100 have 24 hrs. to respond. Those who do not respond get taken off the list and they pick another ballot. this process continues until they have the entire 100 seats filled. That's right - according to the ballot I filled out it was fifty but according to the rules posted at the drum (beside the poker room btw) it is now 100!
You can get an entry in one of 3 ways:
1) Bring in a coupon from a monthly mailer
2) Write in to the promotions manager and ask for one
3) Get one at a table game
! assume for those willing to do it, #3 would be the best option right now as there are only a few days left.
Good luck to all! :d:
Every time the pit bosses walked around, I'd get one and feed him it (I'm already in afterall)
cheers

so far mine has not been worth its weight in paper - no call as of yet
"Thank you for entering the Degree Poker Championship Qualification Draw. The draw is now closed.
That being said, there is another opportunity to get a seat at the tournament.
There are 100 walk-up seats reserved, to be distributed through a random draw.
Here’s how it works:
On June 20th, from 8-10 AM you may pick up your walk-up ticket at the coat check area. The draw will be held at 10:15 AM sharp in front of the Fountain. You must be present with valid government-issued photo ID to claim your seat.
This is your last chance to play in the Degree Poker Championship - the search for Canada’s next undiscovered poker talent!

Degree Poker Championship"
I just got the email and came over here to post it but you beat me to it Lit.
I will be there!
I figure there will be about 500 people, so 5:1 odds for a seat. I really want to play this tourney, I'm going to be (cough cough) a little under the weather Monday morning and will come in late if not selected.
If anyone else is going for the draw, I'll be the tall thin guy, black jacket, glasses... I'll probably be carrying or wearing my CNPL hat and am always wearing my poker watch. If you see me, come and say "hi". I only have met one other forum member and hey I used to work with him so I already knew him.
Good luck to all members who go!
I shouldn't be hard to spot.
Come say hey.
I'll be at the casino REGISTERING for the tournament when you guys are filling out your ballots
