stp is right up there for many of the same reasons. I'd put him high on the list (even though he HAS busted out first in like 4 of the last 5 tournaments we've played in.... so weak-tight...) stp reads me like a book. Very analytical and thoughtful about the plays he makes.
John A. is one of those 'no fear' aggressive players that everyone's little scared of. John either busts early or finishes deep, loves to see flops and plays well after them. He agression gets him into trouble, but I admire his game.
Lots of really good players in the KW area.
i) best all around poker player?
ii) best cash game player?
iii) best tournament player?
iv) player with the most consistent results?
v) player I fear the most?
vi) player that others fear the most?
Reputation definately goes a long way in determining who the best player in KW is. My immediate response in my head was Zithal. Although I find that I can read him fairly well some of the time, there are others that can never get a read on him. I've seen his game evolve to something pretty special over the past year. He is currently adding dimensions to his game that I could have never imagined him adding. I'm not going to rank these players but simply list them as my top player's list.
I occasionaly used to play at Neils (sloths) game on Friday nights. Wow, was I ever outmatched back then. Can I just list all of the players that were there? Giggles, Teach, ComaU, Sloth and Bob are disgusting players. I hate them all in different ways.
Now, in the category of fear players. I have thought about who I don't want at my table on day one of the KWSOP. The fact that there are some people that I do not want at my table must tell me something about their playing style that erks me. If it gets to me, it must get to others. In this category I would put Graham Pearce, Jonny Adams and Tyson James. These guys will bust you with a bad beat, make you gamble, put you to the test everytime you play against them. Why can't we see a flop before we put all of our chips in? C'mon guys.
There are definately some up and coming players that I should likely list, don't feel bad if I haven't listed you (I just don't like you). Brady B, Sammy K, Mario, Tye Z., Johnnie H., Cole Woods and Steve B. are players that I think I should be a bit careful with. Last but not least is my girlfriend Kate, she'll dominate you every and anytime and you'll learn to like it!
stp
just playin ...
And as far as the question goes, I'm still thinking about it and I haven't came up with an answer, too many people seem to have solid games.
I haven't played enough against local folks to say.
What about us out of towners that are gonna try and give the KW's a run for their money?
In regards to Rob's comments about me being up there with Magithighs, I'm not sure. I haven't played with Magi, although he has been here. I have always considered myself an average poker player with above average reading skills, it works to my advantage when my opponents think ahead of time that I know their hole cards. I do believe though that putting your opponent in specific boxes is almost the most important gift a poker player can have. Patience and discipline would be a close second.
"Mario, you have pocket jacks...and look, now you've hit your set". Fold.

Master poker player you must take me on as your apprentice and teach me the way of the read.
Beat this game and you get a lot of respect from me.
See yous at the KWSOP.
