Calling all female poker players

I'm looking to find female poker players in the area :) (GTA)
I want to hear their feedback on the idea of girls only poker games - sort of a league maybe.
Basically its for girls only. Experienced players as well as for those girls who are too shy to play with the guys but want to play - or learn to play.

Feedback please :)

Probably tournaments and small cash games.

For new people - maybe a newbie night - where its a 5 dollar tournament - to learn tournament play - or 5 dollar cash game - playing 5 cents / 10 cents for learning purposes.

Nothing is set in stone. Just ideas being compiled together.

    Yaaayyyyyy! I love this idea.

    I've been playing all kinds of poker for about 6 years. Mostly home games, and have just started to play in small buy in tourneys. Slowly getting over the "playing with the boys" factor...... I mean, you have to get over it....... how many times have you walked into a card room and you're the only girl.

    I'd be really interested in joining a girls league. Would be even more excited if any of the girls here are advanced level players as I've been trying to find a coach/mentor.

    Hope there's lots of feedback here.

    Hi ..... I'm downtown as well.  How long have you been playing and what sorts of games do you usually play?

    Please note, I am not saying Girls are bad/worse at poker ... trust me, I've lost to them enough ... I just don't want to lose to MY girl :D

    So Cecilia, how many players do you have so far? I think my wife would like to play at those limits. She is also new to the game and doesn't enjoy playing for any real cash.
    She might also have a friend that might want to play. Let me know the details.

    I think we actually have enough to do a table.
    I'm going to get the contact information of everyone and try and feel out times available - and what they are interested in playing - I'm assuming some wont want to play in a newbie night. But who knows - could be just fun poker :) I'll pm you shortly :)

    Just an update.
    We have a location and a date of next thursday for our first game/lesson.

    If any of you guys have g/fs you want to share the world of hold'em with let me know :)

    Hint...My hubby is a happy man cuz he doesnt have me bitching at him when he wants to play poker...cuz I play too.
