CPT Championship in Regina
How many players will there be for the CPT Championship in July in Regina? Your guess?
I note that the televised CPT event in Edmonton jsut attracted 247 players to a $500 freezeout. Regina is  an $1100 freezeout.
I am curious how many players this forum thinks will start in Regina in July?

I would put the number at 500-600.
I for one, who have played all of the $500 events cannot justify the higher buy in. I know other from here in Edmonton who are of the same view.
Good luck to them though!
Ps. given that many people from here tend to fly to Regina (I do not) you can go to Vegas for a similar cost, and play a 500$ event or $1000 event there.
However, I hope they get the 1000 they hope for. I understand they are free rolling the top 25 on the CPT money list (according to the recent updates on the web site, so that is a nice touch for those who have made it).

The timing isn't great, what with the WSOP happening in July as well. I know they don't overlap, but still, a lot of folks will have just spent some big bucks in Vegas and they might go into hibernation mode for a while.
372.
Three seperate first days. Remaining player meet on day four to finish the tournament.
I took this from the Canadianpokerplayer website where it discusses the tournament.
"All seat drawings will be random to ensure fairness and even the field for each qualifying day. The championship event boasts a blind structure where each round increases by less than 50% to allow maximum maneuvering of chips during play. Players busting out or those who couldn’t secure a seat can take advantage of 20 tables of side action that tip the scales at 100-200."
I, for one, hope this event does well. I think they will come close to their projected 1000 players.
What is up for grabs on this, Dave? I guess 945.
Closest to the actual number wins a spanky Team Canuck Poker cap. It's really the only prize I have.
Under beats over in the event of a tie.
Any word re: online satellites for this event?
i'll guess 1000 lol
Dave Scharf: He? Whom are you speaking about? My name is Dave! The bids are 437, 372 and 1000.
stpboy: Can I bet $1?
Dave Scharf: No, this isn't the Pirce is Right. You can bet one though.
stpboy: I bet 299
My whole goal since April 1 has been to make my entry on line by July - as of right now I am at $440.00. Even if I do not make the $1,000.00 the remainder is coming out of my bankroll.
My guess is 820.
Hope to see lots of you there.

My guess is 489. The buy in is a little steep for the newbies. Next year though, it will have a waiting list.
and I predict a top 10 finish for Dave. I know he has had some tough luck there latley.Me, my goal is in the money.
I will not be playing, as I have a limited bankroll, and I lost the local satellite. I hope to be there to watch, though. I have a 5% piece of our winner. I also want to meet as many forum members as I can. Putting faces to names would be awesome.
Three preliminary days. 10% of the field each day advances. Each preliminary day the players are divided into groups of four or five tables. They play within their group down to 10% of the field. If you do not advance on day one, you can enter day two and/or day three.
Final day is a standard multi table format with chips being carried over from each players preliminary day. Everyone on the final day is in the money.
888 (my guess on the attendance)
Do your hats come in XL? I have a very large melon.
