GAZEBO Poker

Just Bough a Gazebo yesterday, wanna move my bi weekly tourney outside once in a while when meteo permit.

Less crap to pick up after game from players. And smoking player are going to have a blast cuz inside its non-smoking.

Just wondering if anyone ad bad experiences with playing poker outside.

Maybe some pointers

Was thinking about putting a card-grabber (sorry dont know the proper term for this) on the table, you know the plastic transparent thingy that hold card. Any idea??

  • watch out for bugs, wind and pissed-off neighbours
  • I've played on a deck out side it was nice..

    Get good bug spray
    lighting..
and maybe card toppers for players in case of wind..
  • was just about to post on outdoor poker! glad a i read back a post or 2 first.

so, yes, now that the weather is getting nicer, i figure our game (probably a lot of people's games) will be moving outside. i guess the best thing to come up with is a simple sheet of plexi to slip the board cards under. they used this type of thing in the wsop outdoor game. and, there was a site up one time (gone now) that showed a group playing on a boat. was a beautiful table, and they had some kind of glass looking thing to hold the cards down.

glass breaks - plexi marks easy....any other options?
of course, if there isn't any wind, not a problem.
  • As far as bugs goes, theres a screen around my newly bough Gazebo so bugs are out. Ill probably buy some citrus thingy to be certain they stay there.

Anyone whos looking to host game outside should consider these bad boys. (Gazebo) Can find some cheap one that will do the job nicely.

My other problem is i dont wanna bring my poker table outside, not that its a really expensive one but its the only one i got.

Another thing i did not consider at fisrt is the hour of play. Whe usually finish the saturday tourney around 10pm. I think where gonna have to start early, still a bit cold outside.

Still thinking about the transparent card holder. Plexi is hell to cut without power tools, not sure im gonna go with it.
  • when i needed plexi before, i just found a place in the yellow pages, gave them a call, and went by their shop. they had most of what i needed in scrap, and cut anything else for me.

with such a small strip needed for this, it should be real cheap.
