TSN’s Off The Record

I will be a guest on TSN’s Off the Record on Wednesday, May 11 (check your local listings). I will be there with Toronto Argonaut quarterback Damon Allen. Cool! I love the CFL. Go Saskatchewan go! It will be very neat to share TV time with Michael Landsberg and Damon Allen. I am, obviously, hopeful that I can get a few licks in for www.CanadianPoker.com.

    I'm working at OTR today, and we just taped the promos, which will run periodically all today and tonight.  Michael Landsberg usually picks the top couple of guests to mention in the promotion... he picked Damon Allen and Dave Scharf.  They hype is mounting!!!

    Dave, I'm noticing that in addition to CFL talk (which I know you're a big fan of), they're talking a lot lately about the World Hockey Championship and Team Canada.  Not sure if you're watching that series or not; if not, it's probably a good idea to read the articles here: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/World/  Also, they're playing a game right now.

    Kickin it old school.  Normally I'm a fan of the old school, but in this case...

    I am avoiding the front end of the camera this week on OTR.  Maybe if we're lucky though, we can talk Dave into talking Michael into doing a Scharf/Landsberg Juicy Fruit commercial parody.

    IIRC, our lyrics were:

    "Got some guests lined up, we're all ready for the show, the show is gonna move you"  (I have to interject... the repetition of the words 'the show' always bothered me here.  I am currently in a legal battle to obtain the master tapes so I can excercise the creative freedom I did not have originally.)

    "Vince Carter's... got some doubts... til the Raptors get real nervous and kick his whiny ass right out...."
    "OTR is gonna move you... OTR is gonna move you..."

    Moments in history that all parties involved wish they could take back.

    Just watched the taping... dave did a great job. Producers were very happy with him and with the show in general. Check it out tonight... Dave predicts that the next wave of big-time poker pros will come from Canada. Awesome.

    I was so ready to watch this until the power went out in all of Waterloo last night at 5pm. Just ask my wife, I was literally sitting on the couch starring at a blank TV gently sobbing ... why today?

    Hope it will be re-aired on a best-of-OTR. Anybody tape it?
