Some pics from Europe. Paris part.

We went for food and drink our first night in Paris. I ordered this monster plate of sausage and saurkraut that I couldn't finish. There had to be at least 7 large sausages (not including a whole beef rib - like the flintstones). It is actually only the second time in my life that I have not been able to finish a plate of meat (as evidenced by the double chin ). On the left is me hiding behind our beer order (8 at a time - don't ask) and on the right is our view - Notre Dame cathedral at night. It was absolutely stunning.
We stayed up all night - made our way down to the ACF (poker club in Paris) and played until 6 am. This was actually a 36 hour day for me, as I was unable to sleep well the night before we travelled to Paris. I am totally punch drunk here! We then stayed up until sunrise, which we watched overlooking the city at the Sacre Coure (cathedral on a mountain in the south end of the city). Not many times in my life will I be up to watch the sun rise over paris. On the right is a view of most of the city from the vantage on the mountain.
Spring in Paris - the mornings are spectacular. This is the Sunday after the pope died. There was nobody in the streets at this point. I think they were either sleeping or going to church. It was really weird. Even in Toronto there are SOME people around at 7:30 am on a Sunday, no?
Some silliness outside the Louvre later that morning. The picture of me at the fountain has become a fave among my friends and family. The other one, I got lost in the hedge maze in the gardens south of the Louvre. A guard had to come and get me out ...
At least the silliness stopped when I got into the museum. That isn't me kissing a statue. Honest.
This turned into probably the most perfect day of my trip. It was literally like spring opened up shop. We went into the Rodin gardens (where 'the Thinker' is displayed) and just sat there watching families picnic, kids play on the lawn, people kiss and get all romantic like. Paris in the spring does funny things to people - that is the French au pere my friend proposed to (although she turned him down). I wish I could remember a good line from Peppe le Pew here.

how was your poker experience there, playing in the Aviation Club de Paris. Night life must be great down there in Amsterdam.
And to tell you truth, I don't remember that much of Amsterdam's night life....
It was an awesome trip.
