Ottawa and Montreal

I was cruising through the Ottawa poker forum and the Montreal one and came across what looks like a brewing rivalry. Check it out: http://www.pokerpoker.ca/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-1615.html

What do you guys think of the level of play coming out of these two cities? They each have their local heroes and some up and comers. Montreal has Jason Lester (4th 03 WSOP), Isabelle Mercier (1st Ladie's WPT), Andre Boyer (6th 95? WSOP) and Haralabos Voulgaris who recently did very well at the WPT 2nd. Who came out of Ottawa?

I just spent an hour going through the montreal forum and all I can say is wow.

I am very glad our little group here is respectful and able to speak without vulgarities. I think their admin or at least a moderator has insulted someone (and I mean REALLY insulted them) at least 5 unique times - whatever the reason, and they varied, I can't see that as useful. I don't know how interested I would be in joining a community that allowed nonsense like that.

I agree with you, that was disgusting....but it would be nice to take their money...I say we talk to Sloth and All_Aces, set up a poll, and challenge the Ottawa and Montreal forums to a tourney??????

I agree with you that the playerforhire forum can be pretty vurlgar/harsh/dis-respectful... if you want a clean forum that is like here you'd have to know french and go to princepoker.com. So if you're thinking of a tourney between canadian forum, don't forget about the french-speaking player... you'll be suprise by their level of play

I do recall there being some sharks in the water in Paris. Why should Montreal be any different? Good point.
