New games at River Rock
When I was at River Rock yesterday (Sunday), one of the tables was set up as a training area for dealers and supervisors. They were having a refresher course on omaha and 7-card stud. I talked with some of the supervisors, and it sounds like they want to get regular omaha games going fairly soon, and maybe stud if there's demand. High only for both games to start, maybe hi-lo (8 or lower) for both if it goes well.
One thing I thought was pretty funny - in stud, one of the supervisors doing the training spent some time on the topic of what to do when the deck runs low. Apparently they're expecting a lot of players to call down all seven cards, at least to start. Am I the only one that sees dollar signs when I think about that sort of game?
On the holdem front, they've added a lower buy-in no-limit game ($40 minimum buy-in, $100 maximum, 1/2 blinds). It seemed very popular, looked like all 2/4 and 4/8 regulars at the table.

I've played in about four of them. I've never had any problem with the way they're run. 60 people, generally starts on time, usually over in about 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM or so). Blinds raise every 20 minutes (IIRC, might be a little less than that), and usually they're down to around 40 people by the first break. The only time I've seen somebody have a problem is with registering - if you pre-register, you have to check in and pay your fee before 9:30 AM or they go to the alternate list. Alternates have to be at the desk at 9:30 to answer when their name is called in order to get a spot. I've seen pre-registered people show up 10 seconds late and lose their spot, and I've seen alternates play a little too long at one of the cash games and miss hearing their name called.
Registration is available starting two days before the event (Saturday for the Monday tournament, Tuesday for the Thursday tournament), at 10 AM IIRC. Usually the list fills up pretty quick, and they don't start putting names on the alternate list until midnight the night before the tournament. Each time I played, at least 10 and as many as 25 alternates got seats.
