NL holdem Bankrolls

I usually play limit 3 -6 on stars and keep about 1500$ online but i cashed it all out ,due to playing bad and i needed a break as well ,but now that im playing again ,i want to try nl for a while.I stareted with $400 and turned it into 1300 in about a month i then got rivered a bit and tilted a bit and my roll dropped to 700. I am wondering if this is a normal swing for nl and what should my b.roll be for .50-1.

    I *think* the rule of thumb is 30 max buy-ins but someone wil have to confirm that for me. In that context losing 600 doesn't sound like a particularly bad swing, I'm sure it's within normal variance especially for NL where $600 could basically just be 6 bad beats for you.

    I have never seen a good answer to this question and my own results aren't enough to give you a good answer I'm afraid.

    30 x max buy-in feels about right, but it's nothing more than a feeling.
