Hey, 44 of you, read this (WSOP)

According to our poll 44 of us would be willing to spend a minimum of $100 to hold a satellite for a WSOP trip.

Wanna start the talks about a 44 person, $100 buyin dealio where winner goes to one of the non-main events (ie the $2500 event with a little left over for flight?)

  • I guess the first thing we need is a place. After that we'll need to discuss a blind structure and starting chip amount.
  • Yep,

Let me know when and where. I think I can get to another Vegas tourney in besides the Big one.

    Rediington
  • I am fully in, this could get interesting.....
  • ok, well this could get a tad complicated with 44 (give or take a few) interested..perhaps more than one event.

Now, the idea would be to obviously hold this all online because we're spaced all over the place. We could run it exactly how qualifers are run for the CNPL...which is like this:

Once we've decided/agreed on date/time/cost all participants would send their cashola to MEEEEE! I then hold it in 'escrow'

then we hold the satellite online for $1 (to avoid having to pay higher registration fees) then I forward the money to the winnAR!

    make sense?
  • Great idea with the low buy-in online - THAT's why you're the boss.

I think more than 44 people would show up though. With at least 44 people, I would maybe consider 3x $1000 entries plus flight - share the wealth a little. Thoughts?
  • I will ignore the hijackers post above :D lol. Yep, I'm interested in playing for a wsop seat online for CPF.

    stp
  • Moi aussi.
  • I like the online approach.
  • yeah, prophet, a little less hijacking, eh? Not everyone can meet because we're from all over the country...try to keep on topic.

With that said, umm..nothing else to say I guess.. waiting for more feedback on whether or not it's a go.
  • Will this tourney run for the CPF or the CNPL. Is it the same concept as CNPL or will it be seat winner playing for himself.

    PUNKYMISHA
  • I would be interested. Ilike the CNPL format.

    Some food for thought:

What site? Is Stars a possibility? I like the blind structure and a lot of us already have an account there...

    What Event?

    Friday, June 3   NL 1.5K
    Friday, June 9   NL 2K
    Wed, June 22   NL 1.5K
    Friday, June 24   NL 2.5K
    Tue, June 29   NL 2K
    Friday, July 1   NL 3K

Also, July 11, 12, 13 (During the Main Event)   NL 1.5K, 1K and 1K respectively

Maybe closer to the weekend would suit more people?

How much for Airfaire? ~$500 CAD? more, less?

Extra money? $500 CAD (Accommodation 2 nights?...do we include this with airfaire?, spending money...) more, less?

    Scenario:

    50 entries @ $100 = 5K

Suppose we send one person for the 2.5K US ~ $3200 CAD

    + $1000 ~ $4200

the balance (if there is) to runner-up...???

I like the idea of sending more than one person...but you waist money in Airfare, etc...

You will also need to confirm the % shared...60/40 (Winner/rest) more, less???

What do I know anyway, I'm just the Pac-Man Champ :D
  • I'd be in. :D
  • Sounds good. Giving out multiple buyins to one of the smaller buy-in events would be ideal I think. I think us under $100 people would be happy playing any event, so why not give out as many seats as possible.
  • see, even since resurrecting the idea, the number has grown from 44 to 50 and will probably grow more. I think we need to set a defined cut off date for expressing interest, then there needs to be another poll on the date most could do it. I like the idea of sending the person w/ a chunk of change for airfare and hotel. Ultimately, leaving the decision process up to 50 people is impossible, so I'll probably jump in with a schedule very soon with a laid out plan and whoever likes it can do it.

I'll of course welcome others plans of pulling this off in the meantime.

Always assume the # of participants is going to be 5-10 less than the actual # of votes as a contingency as well.
  • I'm in as long as I can play on the day of the Satellite. I really like the idea of quallifier to a smaller event and who says we can't run more than one qualifier?
  • I am in as well......ahem.....lets just say I win..........lol........and I am too scared to play the BIG ONE.........can I let someone go in my spot? Teheehe.....no one thought of that right? LMAO ..... not that I am a chicken or anything...........just putting the idea out there.......how would it work if I wanted to pick someone to play in my place? :h:
  • To clarify something, we are talking about $100 US, right? I just finished a conversation with someone who forgot the WSOP events were in USD and he has to rebudget everything now :S
  • And why can't I use a confused smiley ?!?
  • You mean this guy ??? (string is ? ? ? without the spaces obviously)
  • I'd be interested in playing provided I can make the agreed upon date and dependent upon what site we are going to play on.
  • Of course i'm down

    Thanks,
    johnny
  • Sounds like a great idea sloth. I would be interested if the ole work schedule doesn't conflict.
    Keep us posted.
  • I never voted in the poll because the curse of the late birthday is bitting me in the ass again. I dont turn 21 until the end of Nov :'( Otherwise I would be in for sure :'(
  • i'm in assuming i'm free for the sat, and free for the date of the target tourney.
  • Count me in -- let's do it!

    Cheers
    Magi
  • As long as i'm available on the day...i'm in.
