Casino Niagara Trip report

I went to Casino Niagara today. I arrived at 12:30 and started playing 1/2 NL within 10 minutes. They had 4 or 5 tables with various limits going but only one was NL. Action was great, lots of big pots, few fish at the table. Couple of hands of note I remember:
I'm on the button with 5 or 6 limpers, I hold 4 :s: and 6 :s:. I pay the $2 to see the flop and BAM! 578 rainbow. there is a bet and a raise to $50 and I go all in for $100 or so. 2 callers and I'm tripled up. Before that I doubled up with K6 offsuit after flopping 2 pair. Lost about $55 to a nice looiking girl after she went all in with KK and I called with A :d: Q :d:. No help at all on the board. I went in with $100 and cashed out $359 around 4pm, after dropping $100 on roullete and shit I was still more then double my buyin.
Overall it was a much better experience then at Fallsview, much more quiet more room between tables. I would put this experience about the same as Seneca except that the people playing today were worse skill wise then Seneca. I will most likely be heading back tonight around 10 to close. I really like the 1/2 NL.
I think that as of today Casino Niagara and Seneca Casino are my two spots to play hold 'em. I will not be playing at Fallsview again.
Any questions just send me a PM.

cheers

PS, I was called a newb for playing 46 spades on the button with raise before or after me.

  • Thanks very much for the report, a couple of questions;

1/ What limits did they have, ie $2/4?

2/ Any sign of the spread limit, 1-3 or 2-6 that they have in Vegas? That's my favorite..

    No idea about #2. THey had 1/2 NL 2/4 4/8 3/6 and 6/12 limit
  • Thanks for the trip report. I'm planning a trip out to Niagara in the near future and have been trying to get a feel for the two rooms. As I expected, we'll probably be heading to Casino Niagara. Of course, as more people realize it's there, it'll probably start filling up.
  • I just finished my 3 day poker marathon at Casino Niagara. I played strictly 1/2 NL and finished $1200 ahead. Needless to say I like 1/2 NL a whole lot better then 6/12 FL.
I'll be a returning customer at CN for sure.

  • I swung by today to check it out after my econ exam. And I must say its looking good! And after talking to a few of the guys, within a month or two they will have a full lounge for the poker players complete with a pool hall and eventually life sports betting!

Looks like they decided to do it rigth this time!
  • Hmmm, should we make sure we're not playing each other?!

Will definitely be getting over there before next Friday.
  • A buddy of mine wants to check it out tonight, anybody have an idea of the Min/Max Buy-ins?
  • For the 1-2 NL table is is usually $40 min, $100 max.
The other FL tables don't have a max as far as I know. So if you want to fell like a big man, you can buy a whole lot of $1 chips and then do fancy tricks with the massive piles. Try to make a CN tower or something :)
  • I couldn't do a poker trick if my life depended on it, but i'm sure i could build a CN Tower.

I'll be the one going all in with 7/2 :fish:
