  • In, please.
  • In for both. I will be there at 7pm.
  • Will the HU be a bracket tournament?
If so, will players start their next round as soon as they have an opponent?
  • In for the 8pm NLHE Tournament.

    Correct
  • In and with a +1 (Dan) should be good for the HU tourney. For clarification, if you are winning the HU Tourney, or top 2, you will not be able to join the NLHE tourney since the late reg/rebuy period would have elapsed?

You are asking for a friend, right? :-)

  • OK, crazy sounding but let's do this thang. And I mean the 'whole thang'.

    Most likely correct.
  • I'd almost wager that Top 4 may not get in but Top 4 will cash (assuming we get enough runners)

It is very unlikely that the final four will be done by 9:15, the end of the NLH entry time. Keep in mind that the final bracket will be the cumulative time of the longest game in each bracket.

To finish in 135 minutes with 9-16 players (four brackets) would need to average 33 minutes per bracket. At that blind level there would be 67BBs in play. With 5-8 players it is 45 minutes and 50BBs in play.

Most heads up tournament games end, on the average, with 20BBs in play. For this structure that's at Level 7, 60* minutes. Total 240* minutes of play for Bracket 4 and an end time of 11:00. Bracket 3 ends at 10:00*.

I do think we will go faster than this. The small player pool reduces the chance of the longest and shortest completion times, but players will be motivated to enter the NLH tournament adding more short completion times for overall faster brackets. I just don't think it will be enough to shave off the 45* minutes required for the players in 3rd and 4th (Bracket 3 losers) to finish at 9:15.

To complete four brackets by 9:15 would look like the following.

    8 min blinds, no ante.

    Level 1: 100-200
    Level 2: 200-400
    Level 3: 300-600
    Level 4: 400-800
    Level 5: 500-1000 (20BBs in play, 32 minutes)
    Level 6: 600-1200
    Level 7: 700-1400
    Level 8: 800-1600
    Level 9: 1000-2000
    Per Level: +500 +1000

Three brackets would be the same with 9 minute blinds, 20BBs at 45 minutes.

    *Edit.
Correcting a typo on the time and the compounded errors that followed.

  • Hey all! Back from Vegas, and catching up with the thread. I feel we're a bit light, currently, for a Heads-Up tournament. I'll keep an eye on numbers and if they don't change too much before tonight, we may just convert this over to a regular game with rebuys.

I maybe left a blu water bottle that has stickers on it.
(ill recoop next next im there)

In for HU if me water bottle gives me an excuse to attend
  • I'm in for regular tournament only.
  • It looks like we're going to be short for a good Heads up tournament, so I'm making the Executive call to covert this to simply a normal $20 Rebuy tournament, with unlimited rebuys for the first 5 levels).

In the process of updating the above post and I'll make sure to contact everyone that only signed up for the 8pm game.

    Perhaps later this year! :)
  • Hi Rob. Could you please sign my Dad and me up? I promise I'll show up this time as I triple checked the date. It would be very challenging for me to come a day early this time.

  • Thanks! Counts should be accurate now. :)
  • @Zithal do you have a link to the google sheet? I can't seem to find it.
  • I'll post when when I post the results later today. Cheers!

It was great to see some of the long time Bristol veterans that still come out and to meet everyone else!

Thanks again for hosting Zithal. You are still the host with the most!
