  • Looks like there’s some interesting events at the Nugget for very reasonable buyins

  • What dates are you going to Las Vegas? I have booked for June 18-30 using Caesars Diamond, so no daily resort fees, parking fees & other fees. I will be grinding the Seniors Events from compuease’s first link above.

I'm going on Apr 25 for 1 week with some good business friends, not sure when during WSOP though. No way I can swing going for 6 weeks, family is too important. Maybe near the end of June. I'm looking for a super super seniors...

How much do you have to gamble to earn Diamond nowadays, I have heard it's a lot more than it used to be?

  • Is this thing on? Sold the businesss, resigned yesterday, looking to get pulled back in.
  • Hey Dave, good to hear from you.. Sold the vet business? Are you still on the west coast? Jeff.
  • I never gamble a single dollar at the casino. Another forum member & I got Caesars Diamond through my FoundersCard Elite membership last year.

I looked at that but it says that diamond expires the year after you get the Founders Card unless you gamble enough to keep it. One way or another they get you. And the cost for it per year is exorbitant. Lot of travel per year to recover cost. My 1 or 2 trips per year are generally paid for by my TD Visa Travel card which I use for everything I can, approx $5K per month.

The published annual fee for the FoundersCard is $595 per year with a $95 initiation fee, which is pretty high.

And the Elite card wow, I would never get any benefit from that. "FoundersCard also has an elite membership that costs $895 per year"

And that is US dollars, so about a mirrion Canadian..

When I used to travel enough that I would have received any benefit from it all my expenses were covered and then some... lol, those were the days.. I loved company credit cards. In the 70's and half way through the 80's I didn't even have to justify virtually anything.. Sadly that isn't the case any more. IBM was a great company to work for then.
  • I'm renewing my Caesars Diamond through status match with Wyndham Rewards. I happened to stay in Wyndham hotels (e.g., Ramada, Super 8, etc.) during the good old WPT Fallsview days, & I was pleasantly surprised that I got to Wyndham Diamond status easily enough & that I can match with Caesars Diamond.

I think the cost of my FoundersCard Elite membership was only $295. I got much more benefits than $295 by staying in Caesars hotels with big discounts & without the daily *&^%$#@! resort fees & other fees. I was also able to status match with MGM Rewards, Hilton Rewards (Gold), Turning Stone (Onyx), etc. For example, when I stayed at WSOP Aruba Hilton, my matched status from FoundersCard gave me & a guest a free Hilton breakfast everyday; I will probably get Gold benefits again when I stay at the Hilton Malta Poker Festival from April 24 - May 1.

Yes, IBM was great to work for. I still have all the company stock I maximized from the IBM Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

How long and when were you an employee, not a contractor? In my early years, approx 1970-82 the plan was exceptional. Price was set July 1 every year and you could buy at 85% of that set price no matter how high it went during the next 12 months. Then, boom it was changed.. lol.. Too many of us made out like bandits. Sold all of mine years ago.. It has not been a good investment % wise since the 90's. Right now it's about the same as it was in mid 1999, $130.
