Anyone Going to the Turning Stone Poker Classic?

I think I might play all the events and try to win a satelite for the $1000 event.

I'm thinking of going. Do the rooms get booked up quickly for this event? I went to Foxwoods last year and the rooms got booked up fast. I plan on playing all the events except the big one, unless I win a seat into that one.

I am leaving in 1 hr to go to this event.   It is kind of a last minute thing but I will probably play the first 3 events and see how it goes.   When I am not in a tournament I can be found  in the poker room on one of the No LImit tables.  If anyone else is gonna be there make sure you say hi to me......I am the 300+lb guy with the shaved head and a goatee.( My picture is in the Nov issue Canadian Poker Player on page 36)

Just got back from Turning Stone. Had a good trip......only because of the side action. My best finish was 25th in the 1st event but they only paid 18 so no cashes for me this trip. The tournaments were well organized and the stucture was the best I have ever played in. 1/2 hour levels and a gentle increase in the blinds ment there was lots of play. They will be doing another series of events in August and I plan on being there.

Sounds good, too bad they only play NL the whole week, if they had some variety I'd be there for sure.

Last time I was there the side games were very low limit, what do they have going during the tournies?

In August there will be limit and no limit holdem events.

there was plenty of side games going
Stud 1-5
limit holdem 1-3 up to 30-60
nl holdem 1-2 blinds up to 5- 10 blinds

I don't see any info about an Aug tourney week on the turning stone website, do you have more info? I'll likely go. How many players were entered per tourny?

Ha d a greta time at this event. Was up quite a bit from the NEPC cash games which gave me a nice roll for this. Played the 200(dead). Then cashed in the 300 event 20th for small money. Crushed in the 500 event by 92os. but did very well in the 20/40 down there making it a profitable trip. only downside was that the weather didnt allow any golf.
