Why do I even play?
My god. I was playing at absolute tonite....... a freeroll of course..........but still
I was doing great............was down to like $600 and made my way up to 20,000 +
1500 enrolled in the tourney.............top nine paid Not much bucks like $5-30 but still............money is money right..........and it's the fact you make it to the final table.........to me anyways........
So ..........I was battling mentally with this Corky dude............he had like 100,000 + chips and i only had 22,000 at one point in the game ............ everytime I had a good raising hand he would go all in........ just knowing I would fold..cuz I was shorter stacked then him...and we all want to make it to top nine cuz thats what pays.......and I guess he was seeing my playing........knowing I didn't want to lose all my chips.................man o man............as I right this I know I am answering my own questions as I go along.................. but I am sooooooooo ticked...........and you all know I am a newbie.....
I wish some of you would come and watch me play to tell me what I am doing wrong...........
So anyway................. we are down to like 50 players outta 1500 ........... been playing 4 hours straight (and I am still complaining to my husband that i wanted to play in the guelph tourney tonite but never got an answer back to my email)Â Â *sniff*Â Â :(
So I bet preflop 10,000 with QQ......... the other guys are bigger than my stack by atleast 50-60,000......
I dont know what position I was in.............too mad to remember ......... anyway I have like 54,000Â
So this Corky dude raises all in................like he had been doing to me all night and he had been commenting on my pic how cute I was etc.................(note to self if I play under my hubbies name people seem to take me more seriously)Â so I go ok.......... I know he is trying to chip bully me..............so I go in......hands are shown..............he has 99

Happens with aces too....I know................ but what the heck??????? It makes me soooooooooooooo mad............Â

You slow play your queens (depends on position but...)
Then he bets....Then you move all in....let him make a decision. The result will probably be the same as he will probably call with is 9/9, but if you win, he might change is patern at least when your involved in the play. He now knows your going to push back at some point.
At least this is my opinion. Fell free to point out flaws if you see any.
The one thing I always notice is that people always seem to overvalue their hands, and that some people will call regardless of what they have if they have the chance of putting some one out.

Free Roll??? This happen to me in a $10 Sit N Go, had a raiser in front of me, I raised him 1/2 my stack and then the 22 fired all-in, the original raiser called, so I figured having AA I have to call. BTW the first raiser had AK un-suited.
If going all-in with AK is what passes for maniacal play in SnG's now a days, I'm glad I'm a cash game player.
Lol - this happened to me too recently. $1/2 NL at Stars and UTG (to my right) goes allin for 38 or so and I call with my AA. HU, he hits trips with a 2 on the river. Just make sure to scribble a quick note on him before he runs (for next time).

So I guess I need to just chalk it up to experience....take a deep breath and play smart and disregard the jerks that make it with bad calls............lol..........I can remember making a few of those calls when I first started playing and people commenting on my luck rather than skill...............lol........
I think I was having a bad night............the thing that bugs me is you make it so far....play for hours to have some beepbeep.....call with 99........acckk.......

I spent all afternoon getting up to 40,000 in chips on TigerGaming.com
Some lose noob ends up magically with 25,000 or so.
I have pocket Q Q so I bet 5,000 and everyone jumps in ( since it is online play money )
The flop is a dangerous 4 4 8
but I all-in because I know that Joe Noob will follow me

I'm down to 10 K but I manage to make another 20 K a few rounds later with a killer hand ( King X ) with everyone going all in. I figure with everyone going all in , they are all holding aces which means that an Ace will not appear on the flop. I caught my king on the flop!
Well I played in a tourney last night and didn't slow play my queens lol
It was a teamholdem game (no I aint cheating on pokerforum.) lol
All guys and then me......lol Finished 3rd........30 buck win.....not bad for a freeroll......
