Seneca Fall Poker Classic - November 8 - 18
I was looking at the Bravo app for Seneca last week and noticed a $45 satellite to get in to the $1000 Main event. I figured it was a long shot but with Nicole sick, it was a good opportunity to try and qualify.
I thought it was just the one satellite and thought there would be a lot of entries. Turns out its only step one of a two stage qualifying series. Ooops.

Well, I was already there, so why not, and wouldn't you know it, I won a seat for a $145 qualifying tournament, of my choosing, and that is for a ticket to the $1000 Main event. And, they don't tax you if you win a satellite, only if you are paid cash.
-
Turns out there was a $145 the next day at 3pm. I figured it wouldn't have as many players, since it was the first one. And I was right, it only got 13 entries and guaranteed 2 seats to the main.
-
Lo and Behold, I luck boxed my way through that one to win a seat to the Main Event November 15 - 18. $30k in chips, 40 minute blinds on day 1, 60 minutes on Day 2 and Day 3 is the final 6 players with 90 minute levels.
-
November 18 also happens to be my birthday.

Great investment of $45.
So sad to be missing your game.
I understand
Fallsview/Niagara Casino increased the admin fee of its $1,100s by 50% to have the highest rake of any $1Ks I've seen, so I'm looking for alternatives such as this Seneca $882.70 + $117.30, with much lower rake at 11.7% rake, 50% more starting chips, and a guarantee. Do you know where we can see the blind structures?
If I recall correctly, the blinds were 25/50 - 50 / 100 - 100 / 200 - 150 / 300 with a 300 ante and up from there
Starting stacks for the $45 was $4000, 15 min blinds
Same structure for the $145 satty but $8000 in starting chips
After the exchange back to Canadian, $1000 US win -30% = $700 US - $700 US is $915.00 CDN
lol, no issue with you doing it all on a $45. satty but would you buy into a 1K event with those conditions, it's like a 40% rake effective.
LOL, I won a $1,100 player's choice satellite, so using it for that better event is an option. I have been one of the biggest supporters of Ontario casinos ever since I started playing in 2007, including GBH, Point Edward, Woodbine, Mohawk, Georgian Downs, 1000 Islands, Western Fair, Windsor, CNE, Rama, Brantford and Niagara, but there are almost no good options left in Ontario.
$3.75 US or $5.00 CAD.
as for breaking a hundred dollar bill ????? I have no idea. Just bring a pocket full of quarters .
Post updates if you run deep.
go DJ go.
It is. He’s on table 12 at the moment.
DJ.... You can do it. 20191116_123132_HDR-1.jpg
I'm at 36k, blinds are 100 /200, 200 ante, avg is 33k, 88 left.
15 levels today
102 players left, 145 entered today, only 4k away from meeting the guarantee
Sitting at 70k, blinds going to 300 / 600, 600 ante
115 big blinds...... good work , keep it going !
Stumbled a bit , was up to 100k, couple of
bad calls cost me. Break came at the right time.
Hookers and blow celebrating the win is my guess.
Not quite. I thought I had updated the thread but apparently I did not.
After the dinner break I went card dead. Stole a few pots to keep ahead of the blinds but by level 14 (1200 / 2400, 2400 ante) I was down to $38k, with a raise of 6k from mid position, I am on the button with AQs and jammed, got called by AK and my day 1 was done.
Still had a fun weekend, lots of poker, Nicole went shopping, dinner at Pondarosa, for the first time in more than 30 years I'm guessing.
