Congrats to Steve - after the Texas Tech win, he is now guaranteed to win money!
If Duke wins tomorrow Steve locks up first place!
If Duke loses, then everyone except for Gayle and Steve are locked out of the money.
Rob has to now hope for both Duke and Purdue to win in the Elite Eight, and then Duke to lose in the semis, and then win the tie-breaker over Gayle to get second place.
Peter gets second if both Virginia and Duke meet in the finals.
If Duke makes the finals but Virginia does not then Peter and Roger tie for 2nd place on points.
If Duke and Virginia win in the Elite Eight, but only Virginia makes the finals then Gayle locks up 2nd place.
If Michigan State wins the whole tournament then Gayle wins and Steve finishes second.
If Michigan State wins in the Elite Eight, and Virginia wins the whole tournament then Gayle wins and Steve finishes second -
EXCEPT if Auburn also wins in the Elite Eight and Michigan State makes the final - then Gayle and Steve tie and go to the tiebreaker.
If Michigan State and Kentucky win in the Elite Eight,
- Michigan State does not make the finals
- Virginia does not win the tournament
Then Steve wins and Gayle finishes second.
All other scenarios Gayle wins and Steve finishes second.
I entered in Peter's overall winner pick wrong, so in the biggest slowroll of my life I'm back in it - although hanging by a (not unrealistic) thread.
If Duke wins today, Steven still locks up 1st place overall
- Since Steve was the only one that has a chance that picked either Kentucky or Auburn today that game has no effect on the prizes if Duke wins.
- If Duke wins today and Virginia wins the tournament overall then Peter finishes 2nd
- If Duke and Virginia meet in the finals and Duke wins the tournament then I finish 2nd
- If the winner of the Kentucky/Auburn game plays Duke in the finals and wins then Peter and Roger tie for 2nd
- If the winner of the Kentucky/Auburn game plays Duke in the finals and Duke wins then Roger gets 2nd outright
- All other scenarios involving Duke winning today have Gayle finishing in 2nd.
The same scenarios play out as written before if Duke loses today. Steve and Gayle lock everyone else out in that case.
Wow did I just see that crazy finish in the March Madness Virginia - Auburn game? 63-62 Hoos!
Back from the dead! *♂️ Closest I could come to a Virginia tribute song is this one!
Now need a Virginia win Monday night to win it all vs Gayle! Cheers, Steve
