I actually just got back from a local bar that was having a Molson promotion. It has been shut down.
The promo went like this.
buy a Molson product get a seat a table. Winner of the table wins a T shirt (or somthing) and an invite to a tournament where the final table all win a prize, from tickets to a sporting event to a all expences paid trip to Vegas.
Problem with this is the liquor board also runs the gaming commision. The bar could loose its licence. The owner said it was not worth the risk, and Molson is looking into loop holes in the law.
There is no real fear of the customers getting charged, but the bar will go under if it does not have a licence.

look into the red hot poker league. The game is terrible, but it's a game and it's in a bar. They have system where they have circumvented the restrictions. I can get into it if you wish, but it's pretty boring to read.
Fair enough - I can send you some links to find table tops of quality like that. I have no idea where he got his. He has been running since October or Nov, I believe and has been making reasonable coin at it (I figure $1000 per bar per night) and can afford real stuff now.
We can talk more about it when I get back to the motherland.

i'd also like to know where they get their tables (i need a couple, and those are the best cheapo-toppers i've seen)

i figured after this initial run, they'd be "upgrading" all the stuff they use with the $$$ they're making now.
here's hoping
curious: is anyone that's behind RHPT on this forum?
