Well this (if true) will certainly kill the limit game. I really don't think there is enough money in the Brantford area to fund NL either. Not like it's a tourist area.

maybe a lot of Toronto guys would prefer going to Brantford, than Niagara Falls, I know I would.....I enjoyed the Brantford tourneys, no traffic, coming and going, unlike Niagara?.....hey I don't mind driving, I went to those daytime Orangeville tourneys and at Belwood, run by CR....seems all the home games run by folks on this board are in KW...its just too far for me...

Marban is 100% right. For me I jump on the 407 and it spits me out on the 403 almost no traffic compared to Niagara Falls. Also the stupid construction coming home from Niagara has been terrible. I will check this out for sure if it is legit.
Issue I see is Brantford is not a real rich area and does not have a local population to keep NL going during the weekdays and slow times. Sure, for now the drive to Brantford is easier but once Woodbine opens I can't see Brantford surviving on NL.. 10/20 NL in Brantford? really?
OK, on the way?
P.S. Toronto to Brantford vs Toronto to KW, about the same..

I live 15 minutes from Woodbine and I would like to see live poker there, but im not holding my breath....from my place to Brantford Casino is a solid hour if I do the speed limit.....ive done the drive to kw , its a little longer....I would love to play Buzzarrrds home games, but I still think its a bit out of my way.....Brantford is 2 streets from the highway, and im 2 minutes off the QEW

Didn’t woodbine open a bunch of live tables .... but zero poker, only pit games...... I do hope they eventually have live poker at woodbine.
I went today. Had 3 1-3 NL tables open. A 2-5 no limit never opened. All supers didn’t really know rules. Are there Straddles, full or 50% raises, etc. Didn’t really know.
But its day one. Will be good. Lots of Niagara regulars there.
Was there last night. I had mentioned in another thread that there was a rumour they were getting rid of 2/5 & 4/8 LHE Looks like it was true. Def no 2/5-it has been replaced with 3/6 kill pots were 5/10. No 4/8 running didn’t ask specifically but assume the next limit is now 5/10.
There were 2 1/3 no limit tables running and 4 3/6 limit. Other tables were running and the room was busy but I didn’t take note of what other games were being spread.
I asked a couple times about tournaments and was told they are very understaffed and there would be no plans to start tournaments until that situation is fixed. One dealer said the turnover there is very high and not to expect tournaments for months.
To make it easy “they’re fucked” saw folded the dealers floor staff are almost all lost and unprepared for the players coming.
Games are nice and soft least until they get fully regular traffic 4 1-3 games we’re running among all the limit games there is a plo list for 5-5 probably so they can do the math but nothing runs yet.
It’s a shit show, for listing they have an excel sheet that probably took 20 minutes to make its kinda scary actually but right now is the time to get there for sure, in under 4 hours I made 395 which at the rate of 32bb the hour makes me happy! Impossible to keep but happy
I played at Brantford last night. Called in on my way at around 3:30pm - only 1 table of 1-3NL running at that time, so I jumped on the 3-6 limit list and was seated in about 10 minutes - Another 20 and they opened a new 1-3 table and I was playing NL at Brantford.
There were some young guns (3), who all went to the same NL training school together who were at my table. They were very aggressive and seemed to look for spots to steal, rather than wait for cards. The rest of the table were typical loose, passive types.
I bought in for the max, $300 and treaded water until I was dealt K-K in the BB - there were 3 callers then the button raised it to $20 - I re-raised to $60 and everyone folded except button who called - flop is K-T-4 and I lead out for $60 and button calls with another $120 behind. Turn is a 9, I bet 100, he jams and I snap call and he has A-Ks and I almost double up.
Another huge hand was getting dealt J-J in the BB - preflop raise was $18 with 2 callers - Flop comes Qd-Jh-7s - I lead out for $40, UTG calls, UTG+2 jams, I call as fast as I can to get rid of UTG+1 but he calls too ! I have them both covered and even after a spade hits the turn, I'm still good. One had A-Q and the other Q-J, and I am now up over $1000 in front of me.
I hope the action stays that good but be prepared for some wild swings.
Went last night and it's still a really good game. There are enough bad regulars during the week to make the 1-3NL game profitable.
1st hand in the BB, I get dealt KK - older, tight player on the button raises to $13 - I re-pop it to $35 and get two callers (UTG+2 and button) - flop is Q-Q-A - It checks around, turn is a 7, UTG+2 leads out for $40, button calls and I fold. River is a 3 and UTG+2 leads out for $60, button raises to $125 and gets called. Button flips over AQ and UTG+2 had 77, for a worse turned boat.
--
Second hand dealt, had 3s-4s in the big blind. It was raised to $10, 4 callers and flop is Jd-5c-6d - UTG+1, original raiser bets $15, 2 callers and me - turn is a 7s - I lead out for $60, UTG+1 raises to $125, everyone else folds and I shove for the rest of my $300 buy in and he hums and haws and says he is pot committed and pushes the rest in.
I didn't get to see what he had when a Jc hits the river and I say I have a straight, and he says show me the straight and you're good, guess he didn't want to show his cards. I show, he mucks and I double up.

In 3.5 hours, I made a $600 profit - Hourly rate is clearly sustainable

Funny that I've lived 15 minutes from Brantford for as long as I can remember and now that we're moving they decide to open for NL. WTF!
OK, on the way?

Hmmm, maybe you were the reason?>:D

Won 700 today. Good action.
I'm guessing it's not going to be a very sensible rake.... likely unbeatable by blondefish's standards

How many NL tables do they have running on busy times?
Ive heard multiple stories about EBC poker room this week regarding understaffing creating long waits and crazy long lists.
Understaffing? That’s not even close to put it lightly, their fucked they couldn’t plan and probably didn’t

Lost $300 in craps waiting for a seat, went to bubble ecraps because still no seat and won $250 then sat in 3-6 and made $127.
Summary ecraps>>3-6>>>>craps.
