For Event #3, of the 2018 season, we're going to play with the format a bit. This tournament will go back to a non-turbo (10k in starting chips, with 20 min blinds), but we'll trying something that the poker community, at large, is trying in some tournament.

In this tournament, the Big Blind will be responsible for posting antes, as well as the big blind. I'm curious to see how it goes! (If you're not a fan of the concept, you may wish to skip this one, and we'll get back to our regularly scheduled game soon!)

Wed, July 11th - 7:00pm
(doors open at 6:30pm)

$20 Buy-in - 10,000 Chips - 20 Min blinds - 24 player max.
(we will accommodate more if there's interest)

1 Table: 1st - 70%, 2nd - 30%
2 Tables: 1st - 50%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 20%
3 Tables: 1st - 50%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd - 15%, 4th - 10%

Late players: If you know you're going to be late, let me know and a seat and chips will be set out for you and you will post blinds and fold until you arrive.

The tournament will last approximately 5-6 hours. Seating is limited to 24 players with alternates. (8 max tables) Please reserve your seat in advance!! The final table will form with 9 players left.

As always, tournaments at The Compound are rake-free!!

Thanks to everyone that came out and congrats to Origami for taking down the tournament!! I'll have full results, along with an updated Player of the Year count, posted in the next couple days.

Event #3 of the 2018 Season went back to our original format; 10k chips with 20 minute blinds (and I was reminded why I switched to a "turbo" format for weeknights! Of course, the cash game went about 2 hours later than the tournament.

As stated above, congrats to Oragimi, taking down his first event of the season. DrTyore's friend Jeff took the #2 spot, while 800Over and Waltsfriend rounded out the cashes. Sadly, it was our brand new player, zanestubs that ended up in the bubble.

With Oragami's win in the largest field of the year so far, he takes over the lead in the player of the year race, bumping Zithal to 2nd! Aside from Jonathan and kwmatt, this was everyone in the Top 9's first points score this year.
