If you could only have one subscription which......

I am thinking of getting a magazine subscription to a poker magazine. I am considering the following:

CardPlayer
All In
Canadian Poker Player
Bluff

Which one would you choose? Are there any others worth considering?

  • I haven't seen All In.

While recently working in Texas, I spent the four evenings reading an issue of CardPlayer. It's Monday morning in their office and one of the first things I hear is a bad beat recount from a neighbourhood hold em tourny. One of the other guys in the office loaned me his copy of CardPlayer. (He was inexplicably receiving it for free.) It took me much longer to read CardPlayer than Bluff and Canadian Poker Player.

I believe it's a larger magazine. I'd say it's due to the greater selection of casinos stateside. Although I did see one ad for the Elbow River Casino in Calgary.
  • Canadian poker player

i think im gonna use my pso points on a subscription but im not sure
  • I subscribe to CPP but I find it has way too much advertisement. I like the scenarios it gives you........gives you an example of card play and then what you would do....then you see what they say.........its good costs $50 ..........too much advertising but.....hey its all good

it doesn't say but looks like it's in CDN funds but who knows
    regardless it's still too much
i'm happy with CPP for $49.95 CDN
i think it's cheaper ??? if i get it online via paypal ???
of course i should be getting a renewal notice soon  (May2005 ???)
  • it really depends on what you're after. There's content and then there's reporting on events. There's also lifestyle mags out there focusing on poker. Bluff seems to be the market leader in all around utility though.
