Hey gang

in all the work that I promised was being done to the forum for you, it was discovered that the style of our blessed forum (colour settings, appearance etc) was borrowed (see: stolen) from another site. I thought I was paying for a unique design.

To remedy this, the entire forum is being converted to a new forum which I find much easier to manage. This new forum will IMPORT all messages, usernames, passwords etc you WON'T have to re-register, and all your posts will be here.

I am testing the install as we speak and won't let it proceed unless it goes smoothly.

If once I've determined there won't be data loss, the actual implementation may result in some downtime for a few minutes of the forum itself.

    Well, I've been through some of those Saturday installs and upgrades myself. I like to do a lot of testing afterward too.

    it has potential, but it doesn't have the same character of the old forum .... it just doesn't feel canadian .... maybe more red

    sorry, didn't mention that this really is phase 1 of a 2-3 phase thingy.

    The style (appearance) will be changing, in fact, members will have the option to chose from a few.

    People should realize they'll have to go in a reset some of their account options. They seem to be reset to the defaults. Also, I think the 'new posts' feature is either not working or it has been reset. I set up a shortcut for it and it doesn't work anymore. That's the main way I access the site.  :'(

    I just know Scotty is going to love this new look1

    one more thing: it doesn't seem to keep the logon persistent. it wants me to log on each time. however, if i go to the 'account activation' screen, then it seems to know who i am and i'm logged in again...

    It does if you link directly to the following URL:

    http://www.pokerforum.ca/forum/index.php

    That is, you need the "index.php" in there for some reason.

    Update your bookmark accordingly. :)
