Limit poker, 2/5, 5/10, 10/20, 20/40 for cash but decent N/L tournaments.
They used to be decent, but the last time I went there the $230 was no longer a “deep stack” and had only 20 min blinds, 10,000 starting stack. They seem to have cut out most of their tournaments in the past few months to focus on people sitting at the cash game hoping for a bad beat. They make more money on that and it is kind of disgusting that a “government” owned operator cares so little for the poker player. They have had no satellites for the past couple of months to the "big" month end tourney either. And no "big " tourney this month.
I played the $330 deep stack today. $15k starting stack and 30min blinds. They also had late registration until the 1st break and had over 90 players before the 1st break.
Yeah, I wanted to play that $330 but had too many things to do today. The $230 used to be the best deep stack deal, but now the $330 is taking its place and there was no $550 or higher tournament this month (hence no satellite).
A friend of mine was told by Brad (unsure of his title-but is a suit at Brantford) that they may be scrapping the tournaments all together. They say they make no money off tournaments and don't seem to realize or care about the extra traffic the tournies bring in. There is still no schedule out for June so I'm becoming more worried this is true.
Heard from another friend who was there yesterday that the new schedule is up on the monitor and there are tournaments scheduled for the whole month. Phew! Hopefully they will update the website soon.
