Edmonton poker scene.

Looking for local people's input on how they think the local poker scene is.

I hadn't play a whole lot since 2014 but I've been playing more recently. Seems like this are picking up but it's no where near it was pre 2014 recession.

It's helped that 3 casinos have closed their poker rooms and more fish are focussed on fewer casinos.

I've also noticed more house games running as well.

  • How many casinos did you have in Edmonton? Crazy to think a city of a million people has 3+ casinos.

    8?
  • Eight casinos? Goddam! It's the fucking wild west out there.
  • what closed down?
  • Bacarrat closed and the new casino at the rink has no poker room.

The palace in WEM put slots into its poker room as did the ST Alberta casino.

River Cree is now only open until 3 am and is now on the floor and not a separate room.

Casino Edmonton is still sick action with its new 1-2-5 game.

    Made 900+ last night.
  • None of those were real Poker rooms anyhow:) I think River Cree did that when I still lived there in 2012?

    Yeah, it's been a while.
The last hour can be quite a shoot out!

Casino Edmonton had 2-5 PLO AND 5-10 PLO last night as well as 1-2 NLHE when I left at 5:00 am.
