  • Welcome home, now he can be Out Of Control instead! Get to it
  • Thanks all for your support and kind words... Back on the mend, home 3 days now and slowly getting stronger, still some uncomfortableness but each day a little better. I'm lucky I have a great live in nurse, she has been my rock.

I have an appointment Tuesday to get my staples out with my surgeon and then see my doctor for a follow up plan.

Thanks to Moose and MMoose (my Vegas nurse :) ) for visiting me in hospital, totally surprised me but much appreciated. I do recall that Glenn (Card Dead) was in as well, I may have missed others as I was pretty out of it a lot of the time.

    Thanks all again..
  • Let me know when the wife is not around, i will bring up a couple massage girls for the afternoon.

Hmmm, think I could get away with that? FYI, you would be more than welcome to visit and I hope to get to meet you in Niagara again in the not too distant future..

Okay, the meds have CLEARLY taken hold . . . you're even THINKING about that offer? and you're thinking about a Niagara trip? Step away from the keyboard, you're clearly high.
  • Update for those who think they make be able to take over my job here... I'm not (planning on) going anywhere anytime soon.

Saw my surgeon a couple of days ago for an update on pathology. Now I don't completely understand all this but I believe it's pretty good news. The tumor blocking my colon was pretty big and was cancer but while they removed it they took biopsies (I believe that's what it's called) of 18 lymph nodes and all tested negative. She said at this point they see no evidence of spread but are sending me to Credit Valley Cancer Centre next Friday for further evaluation to decide on a course of action. Fingers crossed I may have hit it lucky...
I am still weak and not back at work other than some remote stuff but hopefully next week I may get out a bit. Not ready for marathon sessions at the poker table as yet but hopefully soon. Again thank you all so much for the kind words of support. It means a great deal to me even though I know you just want my chips... :)
  • Thanks for the update. It does sound like good news. Good luck with the cvcc.

  • This is one situation where being a "rock" is an asset. The conservative approach is best. Make sure that bastard is dead, and then move on. Good luck, Jeff.
  • So you flopped a striaght and are hoping to avoid a runner-runner flush draw. Hope it holds up and you get to play a few more orbits!
  • Get well Jeff! All the best.
  • This is the ultimate slow-roll to getting back to the table....

    Nut up dad! :)

Based on Wes' run, probably not a good analogy. :)
  • Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery!
  • I guess it's been a while and I owe you guys an update... First thing though, get you F'in colonoscopy's done, it does save lives and these things are much easier to deal with in an early stage... No history previously in my family so don't let that influence your decision, it's only 1 small factor. My brother and all three of my sons now are getting it done. Really a simple procedure, and the stuff you need to drink ahead of time is really not that bad..
As for me I started pill form chemo (Capecitabine) mid Feb and should finish mid July. The schedule is basically 2 weeks on, 1 week off for 24 weeks. After that it will likely be another colonoscopy and scan, fingers crossed everything comes back clean and I go on monitoring for however long. I do not plan on becoming an entry in the reaper thread any time soon.
Every day is different though, some days I feel almost normal, other days quite tired and ill. I guess this is the way it is for a while. I am back at work at least 3/4 time, bored (and broke;)) otherwise...
  • Glad to see this, Jeff. And yeah, family history means squadoosh. Get them to photograph your best side, gents. You'll be better off in the end.
  • Thanks for the update Dad. I'm sure you will be back on your weak-tight game very soon.

I'm not ashamed to tell everyone that I went for a prostate check this week. Had some blood work done (came back fine) but the doc decided to stick his finger up my ass anyways just to be sure. Everything seemed normal and no, I didn't get an erection.

Get your poppers and testies checked out fellas!
  • I am afflicted with Colitis, so I have been having a camera inserted up there periodically for going on 20 years now. Every other year for me as each passing year gives me an increased chance of the big "C". It doesn't hurt, it doesn't take much time and it just might mean you get to play the Royal Cup for a lot longer than otherwise.
  • I go Tuesday for my full day exam at Medcan..... I get everything done under the sun. Last year for the finger in the bum I had a huge Russian doctor..... this year I put in a request for a tiny Asian with petite fingers or a female doctor again with slim fingers.

they do get sick of me singing Moon River upon insertion.
  • For you young fellas that don't get the moon river joke.......

  • I have alot of colon cancer in my family and lucky me I have the gene which creates polyps which over time turn to cancer. I therefore have the test yearly (last 15 years) , another note if polyps are found regularly during a colonoscopy you should also have your stomach scoped as well. The same cancer can be linked to polyps in the stomach.
  • Hope the treatment goes well Comp...GFY cancer!!!

  • pro tip: if you feel two hands on your shoulders during the test, you may want to consider another doctor.
