Jason Somerville is invading Canada with the Run It Up and WPT DeepStacks Championship set for November 25 - December 5, 2016. Last year's Main Event had $1.3 million tax-free prize pool, earning a nomination for GPI’s Event of the Year (buy-in up to $2000). With all the Run It Up warriors, Jason will be live streaming from Calgary.

Forum alumni, Lee Athias, has become the Grey Eagle Casino Manager. Is anybody here going?

    All kinds of records were broken in Alberta, including most satellite entries and largest prize pools. Grey Eagle Casino actually ran out of chips or chip sets in some tournaments!

    As posted on Facebook, here was the final five of the WPT DeepStacks Championship:

    5. Peter Chien from London, Ontario - $72,185
    4. WSOP bracelet winner Tyler Bonkowski from Saskatchewan - $94,695
    3. Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell, who has played 15 million hands, :o from Ottawa - $128,425
    2. Balram Bhandari from Sarnia, DSPT POY - $199,240
    Champion: Duff Charette from Ottawa - $284,095.

    Kristen and Duff also cashed >= U$24,000 each in the Caribbean Poker Party that ended on November 26.
