Casino Windsor (Caesars) trip report

Staying at Caesars Windsor for 3 days/2 nights Mon-Wed this week with the wife who a "professional" slots player.. This is being paid for by here winning at Niagara over the past few trips. She's on a roll.. I plan on playing some poker there although not sure how much choice there will be those days. Will attempt to update as we go. Any suggestions? I know Moose and some of the KW guys get there pretty regular.

    NL starts around 10-11 am. I would be there at 10 am to get on the first table, otherwise you may be waiting a bit until the 2nd table starts. Otherwise 1-3nl runs on multiple tables pretty continuously.

    You can't bring coolers through the casino anymore.

    Neros steakhouse. Check their website, there may be a couple or early bird special. You can reserve in advance through open table.

    Also check out the You gotta eat here website, they have reviewed several eateries in Windsor.

    If your wife doesn't have a card they are offering a free battery backup for new members.

    See if the Tigers are playing at home? I believe there is a tunnel bus you can take to the game?

    Yes. You can take the tunnel bus right to tiger stadium. It's really nice place to catch a game. Definitely recommend.

    I was in Windsor a week ago and stayed at Caesars...nice property. Poker room staff are friendly. I think they run nightly tournaments except on Saturdays. Check out the pool and hot tub....very nice view of downtown Detroit at night. Riverside walk is nice as well. The Chrysler theatre is nearby for live shows - check dates. I went to a Tigers Red Sox game when I was there...awesome ball park and moved down behind Boston dugout from the cheap seats about half way thru game. Have fun!

    Chopped the nightly last nights HU for $485. apiece. Aggressive play wins out! Won 3 or 4 flips at final and one big hand against chip leader with 6,8 in BB 4 handed. He had A,10 in small and limped. I shoved for like 15BB and he called A,8 rag on the flop, rag on turn and 6 on the river. He went ballistic and casino staff had to ask him 3 times to calm down. He went out a few hands later to the guy I ended up chopping with. Good times. Played lots of cash and it is loooooose. Play tight, value town and have fun.

    One thing we really notice is that comps are way better at Niagara for slot play, looks like about twice as much. P.S. this is the wife's play, not mine!

    Jeeesh, how did you know? More on him later from last nights tournament, I didn't cash but it was a blast, finished 6th. Took him out at final but what happened before I did was great. No time at the moment, wife is waiting for me to check out and head to breakfast. to be continued.....

    Ok more on the Croatian guy.. I asked a couple of obvious regulars today after you mentioned it, about him and yep he has been banned for abusive behavior before... He doesn't seem like a bad guy when you get joking with him, which I did at great length, but that was before I took him out Monday night. He really doesn't like you making any play he doesn't perceive as right, especially if it hurts him.. :) Last night I wasn't the one who crippled him but did finish him off when he only had 1 small left... He then proceeded to berate the dealer and suit but just not enough for banishment I guess as I saw him playing cash later.
    Trouble is a couple of hands later it was folded to me in the small and I pushed my 8,3 8BB into a 10BB big who had A,5 suited and couldn't find a fold after thinking about it. He had been playing pretty tight as well, said he just got frustrated.. That ended my night, too bad as I felt good about my chances at that point.
