Rant:
The poker tours and casinos should be giving earlier notice of tentative dates of recurring events to its customers for planning purposes, such as booking vacation days.

The WPT has listened and has published its full Main Tour schedule for Season XV the earliest ever. WPT Fallsview will return on February 17-24, 2017 and WPT Montreal will be on October 30 – November 17, 2016. The $4,559 + $441 Fallsview Main Event will be on Wednesday, Feb. 22-24, with total fees of 8.8%. The $3,395 + $455 Playground Main Event will be on Friday, Nov. 11 - 17, with total fees of 11.8%.

Since these WPT Canada events are the best to take a shot at with no tax withholding, the underground clubs, forum home games, OPT, etc. ran a lot of satellites last time. Let the planning begin.

  • There will be a new WPT Festival Championship this Season XV, whereby at each Main Tour stop such as Fallsview and Montreal, one seat will be awarded to the Main Event at that stop through a tournament consisting only of winners from preliminary events of the festival leading up to the Main Event. Each WPT Festival Champion will earn a "bespoke trophy and access to VIP off-the-felt activities," in addition to their Main Event seat.

So we can run satellites for as low as the $110-$1100 buy-ins at Playground/Fallsview and have a chance to be the Festival Champion. :cool2:
  • Interesting that the $1100 for Fallsview is starting on a Friday now rather than the Wednesday. If it has multiple day 1s (which I'm sure it will) then it'll attract even more casual players who don't want to take days off of work.

Interesting that it's during Family Day long weekend as well. Hotel prices are going to be insane...

It has been on family day weekend a few times in the past
  • For those who want to win a $2,250 package, there will be a rake-free satellite on July 16. PocketsTwos and I have played in this friendly home game before and it gets two thumbs up.

In addition to 888, WPT, WSOP and DeepStacks, the popular Grand Prix Poker Tour (GPPT) from Europe will be coming to Canada. :wav: I knew this was coming after I saw the owner of my favourite poker room in Europe meeting with Canadian poker execs during WPT Montreal. Hopefully, there will be more partnerships among Dusk Till Dawn, Playground Poker and WPT so that Canadians will have more poker opportunities.

I would be interested in this but am going to a GNR concert that night. Will the satty start at noon and how long does it typically go? Also, what area in the city (or outside the city) is it? If it's in Georgetown I'd likely have to pass on it.
