The End of an Era

Though there hasn't been many games recently, I'm still sad to report that the Bristol St Nightclub and Casino will be closing its doors permanently this June.

In fact, we didn't even have a Merry Xmas Madness this year!! Well... that may have something to do with the fact that I knew this was coming, and so, I'm very pleased to announce that Merry Xmas Madness (Summer Edition!) will kick-off new events in the new space! (I'm looking at a July timeframe)

Our new place is a really fantastic venue for hosting poker, so I'm planning on hosting on a regular basis again (starting with MXM). Friends have been nicknaming it "The Compound", so that's starting to stick. lol.

More details are coming soon, so keep your eyes on this forum for an announcement in the next couple weeks!

Cheers!

  • The truth is that Zithal and BSN&C is the reason that many of us CPF old hands are friends.

At one time or another we went there looking for a decent night of poker and ended up meeting some great dudes and dudettes in that basement. (Or kitchen if you were unlucky picking your seat). How many epic poker battles were fought at those tables? I remember when winning a Bristol Street Classic meant something to us and the pride that came with a BSC win. And who could forget about the annual Merry Xmas Madness tournament? It was the absolutely most fun that you could have a poker table.

Even though most of those players have moved on (or passed away in at least 2 cases) I'd like to think that we all are figuritivly richer for having known one another. I'm sure most of you are LITERALLY richer for having played against me haha.

I know there are bigger games to be found but there isn't anywhere that has a better game.

    Zithal, thanks for the memories.
  • Seems so long ago.... was there once in the summer of '04 for the big one!

Looking forward to a visit to the new room at some point!!... now that I have time to play again.

  • I hear the new room is within even closer walking distance to my house, so I'm stoked!
