Jamming with 99s

just wanted some input on this hand
It's a 60$ buy in with about 50 ppl at the local casino top 6 get paid
17 people left blinds are 1000/2000 300 ante
I have 12/15x the big blind in chips
I am in the big blind with a dead small blind
Folds around to 1 before the button he raised to 4500( player that raised is I would consider a local pro with around 80k in chips) I have 99s and shoved and get snapped called with qk suited flop comes kk63q

Would anyone els play it differently or shove the "correct" play?

    Solid advice
  • Holy multiple posts, Batman!
I would 3-bet shove that local pro with 55, T9s & A4 soooted, but I like to play Bingo.

  • Would you have made this post if the flop came A84J8?

Don't be results oriented. Your play is fantastic.
  • Sorry for the multiple post!
  • This sounds like the turbo Tuesday tournament at the GBH for $60.
If you only have 15 min blinds and limits are going to 2/4k shortly, with only 24/30k in chips I gii in this situation. There is a good chance your leading most of the time. IMO he would open with a large range of hands considering his stack. I would call off your shove with KJo+ and he called with KQ.
  • with such a short stack and such a strong hand against a steal position raise I feel like you have no choice but to stack off your 99 here.
  • I'd do some push-ups then a fist pump then jam :D
