  • I'm planning to go on April 19/20 with RAM_Eh, PocketsTwos or others near Casino Montreal. What dates are members planning to be in Montreal for the WSOP/WPT events?

    The Good:
    - Female and senior members can play the $150+$15 first-ever Women's and Seniors' Tournaments :wav: in a WPT Canada festival on April 30 and 29, respectively. If a female friend wants to play and a BAP, I would consider it.
    - Plan A: Win ME entry on Satellite Day on April 28, & play 1B on April 30.
    - I'll play at Playground on May 2-5.

    The Not-so-good:
    - Lots of conflicts with WSOP Montreal on April 20 - May 1, so rare chance at WSOP ring in Canada without -EV trip to US will take priority over 3x/year WPT.
    - I would love to play Event #11 on April 29, but I already bought my entry for WSOP ME 1A on same day. I hope that I'm still playing the WSOP events, but Plan B is to play WPT Events #8 & 11 at 7 pm.

We haven't hashed out exact dates yet, was waiting for the wpt schedule to be released to compare both and make a decision.

I'll be going with a few buddies over either the weekend with Both main events, or the weekend prior. I think the consensus in our group is to primarily go for the wsop rings so it'll be more weighted towards casino de Montreal over playground.

I would like to play some events at each though. I think sniper mentioned he may be coming as well.

A cool idea, if there's enough forumers out there we should organize a private SNG (probably needs to be done at playground) and crown a PFC Montreal champ! Could be a $30-200. Whatever. I think it would be a blast to put some faces to avatars.
  • Probably go over the weekend of the Main Events
  • I'm going to multi table both events just like this year's $2500 WPT 6th places finisher Greg Miller....I hope the bridge traffic isn't too bad.....
  • Anyone know If the casino will run, or has in the past run various sats to mains, $500's etc or even on demand sats?

Also, should the thread title be changed to WPT & WSOPC Montreal and everything from both can be discussed here.

OPT had a WSOP Montreal tournament where there were at least five members there. Any home game organizer can run a satellite/SNG, with the winner(s) going to a WSOP/WPT Montreal event.

Yes, both poker rooms will be running satellites based on customer demand, unlike WPT Fallsview last week eliminating the $235 and $125 satellites too early. :rage: I ended up having to sell all four of my remaining $1,050 vouchers.

Yes, we'll multi-table two events at each poker room, while multi-tabling online too!
  • I just went to Playground for the first time to play the Tonybet Classic and won 2 MTT main event satellites! I wasn't able to do anything with the tickets but that's another story 😂.

I have to say this room is the best individual poker room I have ever been in. Amazing structures, courteous staff and amazing food.

I've never played a WSOP circuit stop and was trying to decide between going for the Playground Spring Classic or the WSOP Montreal (I wish I could do both). After looking at both schedules it seems hands down Playground. Am I being biased/ignorant to the circuit event?

There is nothing like walking into the Rio during the WSOP and seeing the mothership! What I'm asking is does a WSOP circuit event have even a small feeling of being at the big show?!
  • While a RFS is the best way to take a shot at a big event, below is the Playground's list of raked satellites. I was hoping to carpool in a member's Tesla, but with all the multi-tabling PocketsTwos and I will be doing, maybe I'll drive my own car to make it to the first satellite on April 19.

Another option is partypoker, but as lynx5, PocketsTwos, actyper, and I found out during WPT Fallsview, their new satellite system has become much worse. :'( There are no WPT CSC sub-satellites and the buy-in is U$530 with ecology-busting three re-entries, so players can go busto spending up to U$2,120 for only a 4K package.

    Sit n' Go Satellites
Single table Sit n' Go Satellites are available 24 hours a day at Playground Poker Club.
  • I plan to zip to montreal for 4ish days and multi table the 150 and the first 3 circuit events....Hopefully tracking down some PLO cash games if I bust instead
  • There is no greater feeling in the world for a poker player than to go heads-up for a WSOP championship, so I will definitely play every WSOP event in Canada with 0% tax. If I'm out early enough after any of the WSOP noon events, then Playground's nightly ~7 pm tournaments is my Plan B.

PocketsTwos and I have most of the nights filled up in our 3-bedroom rented house from April 19-27, but I will be looking for accommodation and roommates from April 28-30 up to May 5/6.
