Bigger guy? Do you even lift???

lol that's what i was thinking. guess he's buffed up since last time i've seen him ;)
  • Well, the $2500 did not go as planned. It started out great with me chipping up to $23k by the first break. Then got it up to $28k, then got dealt 8-8 on the button. With blinds at 150 / 300, UTG+2 raised to $900 with $8k behind. I called and the flop is 7-7-4 - he bets out $1k and I call, thinking he may just have over cards - turn is a 2 and he leads out again for $3k. Why the alarm bells didn't start ringing, I'll never know, battery must have been low. I ended up calling all the way to the river and he flipped over Kc-7c.
That's one hand I'd like back. Then I went card dead for an eternity, at least it felt like it. When our table broke, I had $17k and the blinds were 200 / 400 (50). After an orbit at the new table, the short stack raises from UTG+1 to $1k, I look down at K-K and re-pop it to $2500, he tries to 4 bet but doesn't put in enough chips, so its just a call. Flop is 6-7-8 rainbow, he ships, I call and he flips over A-A, I don't improve and now I have $3k left.
Somehow I manage to more than double up with a squeeze play in the BB with Kd-7d against J-J. Blinds go up to 250 / 500 (75) and I look down at the Ad on the button and shove for $5800, SB calls me with Kd-Qh. I say to him, let's find out what my kicker is together as I didn't look at the other card, turns out it was another Ace ! I hold and double up to over $12k. Let the comeback commence.
Just before dinner break, blinds are $400 / $800 ($100) and I have $11.2k. UTG +1 raises to $2k, and I see K-Qos on the button. Its the last hand before dinner break and I shove, he calls and has J-J. Unfortunately I don't hit anything but the rail, gg me.
It was a great experience playing in a field that large (over 700 runners) and with a buy-in I would never pay outright. Wish I could have gone a lot deeper for my bappers, I could not imagine the look on your faces if I turned your $70 into thousands.
up next, BCC on Sunday for the $330 deep stack.
  • your deck has 5 7's in it! lol :D
  • That sucks but sounds like a crazy ride. Crazy memory on some of you guys.

    Good luck on Sunday!

It's cool . . . wife would have just spent it on shoes, anyway.
  • Sorry guys, it just wasn't meant to be. I had my "A" game on today, was playing great and then this...

If you think this is a re-post of my hand at Buzzard's, look closer, there is a slight variation.

Blinds are 100 / 200 with 25 ante and I have 16k to start the hand.

UTG limps, MP1 limps, MP2 makes it 500, Hi-jack calls, I'm on the button with 2-2, I call, BB calls, UTG and MP1 call. Six to the flop, $3350 in the pot.

Flop is K-T-2, rainbow. It checks to hi-jack who bets $3100 with about $16k behind. I flat call, BB folds, UTG calls, everyone else folds.

Turn is another King. UTG checks, Hi-jack bets $7000 and I decide to go all in as a King is never folding here and I would have had only $5.4k behinds any way. UTG fold and hi-jack calls.

He flips over A-K and the river..........

is an Ace and I'm out.

That's two tournaments in a row I flop a set, turn a boat, get it all in and lose as a 6:1 favourite.
  • I had Toronto Pimp at my table from the start and he can attest to the above hand.
  • I just read this, and puked in my mouth. So gross.

I've got some e-mails in my spam folder that may help, I'll forward them over.
