  • A must play for poker players.
Agreed. Up to 12 shots at a WSOP championship in Montreal instead of flying to Las Vegas WSOP for 135% more for U$ buy-ins and expenses, plus 30% in taxes. I think irunit4times, PocketTwos, SteveKerr, crazykoby and a bunch of my friends are interested in a road trip in April. Hopefully, the WPT Canadian Spring Championship will be right after.
  • i know everyone likes the big events, but i personally would love it if a series came to ontario and held a smaller side event that actually all took place on a weekend. sadly, we can't all take time off of work to play cards :(

WPT at fallsview is coming and i can't play any of it. maybe i'll head down for the cash games though.
  • None of the poker tours would go to heavily-regulated Ontario for just a weekend, but there have been ~24 weekend tournaments in Ontario casinos every month, ranging from $100 to $1,090 buy-ins. PocketTwos, Wetts1012, Monoxide & DirtArse are just a few members who have won first place in these +EV tournaments.

If you're going there anyway, why not play the $275 super satellite on February 18 or $550 on February 20? I will be willing to BAP of players I know for these satellites.

No I didn't explain it well. The series can run for longer but just have some tournaments that start and finish on a weekend.

Is it easy to sell a ticket if I win a satellite since I can't take time off work to play the tournament?
  • I would imagine very easy
  • For those who want to audition as a WSOP dealer - https://caesars.hodesiq.com/jobs/default.aspx?JobID=5183642&returnPath=job-search-results.aspx.

You'll have to ask people who wants it, but I would buy it.

You'll BAP me and buy the ticket if I win? That sounds pretty good too me.
  • I don't know you tho. Are you playing in irunit4times' RFS on Saturday? Or would pkrfce9 vouch for you?

I'll vouch for trigs, played with him at irunit's before, seems normal, or at least as normal as anyone is who posts on here.. lol.

Lmao I've never met pkrfce9 in real life but I doubt he'd vouch for me.

    Cheers!
  • I have been told that WPT CSC will be around April 29 - May 5, 2016, so there can be a forum convoy going to Montreal starting April 20 until May 5. If irunit4times' RFS are supported, hopefully there will be more for future events.
Hopefully, the WPT Canadian Spring Championship will be right after.
  • Is the schedule posted anywhere yet?
  • Unfortunately, not AFAIK. May's WSOP-C Louisiana is already on the WSOP website and I'm hoping to go to WSOP-C Tbilisi with DirtArse, but I haven't seen the details for the April 20 to May 1 events at Montreal Casino.

  • Nice, wonder if there will be online satellites?

    Maybe here?

yeah, i read there would be online satellites on that site. i'm assuming people outside of quebec can sign up for them but idk for sure.
  • Its fooking amazing that its right after final exmas!
    I love you wsop

You have to be a resident of Quebec to play on there unfortunately.
  • Blondfish ........ Do have any contacts at wsop ??

Can you inquire about if they will be using the french cards for the tournament ?

They used Quebec cards the last time. So I would think they will be using them this time.
  • Thanks Steve.
  • The good news is that Casino Montreal has applied to use English cards during the WSOP. Hopefully, the Quebec regulators will approve it in time so I don't have to keep looking at the RDV cheat sheet.

I already bought my $1,675 ME entry for Day 1B, April 29 over the phone with a credit card.

Unfortunately, I was told that you have to be a Quebec resident and physically in the province to register with Espacejeux.

FU, Ontario government, for being years late in joining the Canadian poker network with Quebec, BC and Manitoba.
  • Formalities, they're not going to get approved. I can wager on the positive side of that. Get ready to play with the french deck - after about an orbit you get used to it.
  • There are only 300 seats so I predict sell-outs, just like Rama and the WPT FPC super satellites. I bought for Event #1, April 20. You get a full refund if you cancel >= 48 hours.

Multi-table satellites will be running from March 9 - April 30. PocketsTwos and I are thinking of renting a house.

sign me up! is farting allowed?
  • You can fart & multi-table on partypoker as much as you want in your private bedroom. Online poker & farting are rigged tho.

With only 300 seats, does that mean that their $365 events - main event are all capped at 300 per flight + alternates then? I wonder how big of an event it will be and how many ppl will be participating.

I bet having the wpt at the same time, although bringing more ppl into montreal for poker, is actually going to hurt numbers with both working against each other.

Canada needs more poker events like these but, with WSOP and WPT working against each other (or is the Quebec gov't saying f*** you Playground)...it can't be good for us in the long run. It will hurt both events to a certain degree I think. The politics of poker rears it's ugly head....
