Probably get as low as $0.70 at some point this year. I have said for quite some time that the "natural" sweet spot would be somewhere between $0.75 and $0.85 USD. Not sure why I feel this way, and I have nothing to base it on, but it seems like a good spot to allow for exporters AND importers to do okay.
It's not so much that our dollar is loosing a ton of value ,but that the USD is increasing in value as the American economy continues to heat up. The good ol' days of the Loonie and greenback being close to par won't be seen for awhile.
I assume the Loonie will increase in value on the world markets when the price per barrel of oil increases.
As long as we keep cutting rates it will continue to fall and will only get worse if the US decides to raise rates. It won't start going up until oil reaches $100 a barrel again.
