Annoying Table Habits

I just watched a PartyPoker European Tourney on t.v. I believe it was the final table of players who had won their table on previous shows?? Anyways, the final table was played well and a gut from Toronto won ( Manfredi or something ). He beat a guy named Hearns and the guy who came third was Philadelphia. This guy was named Shaw. He had the most annoying facial gesture everytime he was in a hand. Hell I think he did it all the time. Whenever the camera was on him. He would scrunch up his nose and kinda pucker his lips ( like he just smelt one that Manfredi might have leaned one his way )

I couldn't handle it, it was driving me nuts! I don't even know why it was bothering me, but I ended up focusing on it. Maybe he did it on purpose? If he did, it may have worked on me?? I guess you just learn to focus those things out, or maybe I wouldn't have noticed it if I was playing him. ( focusing on my cards etc. ) It was sure annoying watching it on t.v. Did anyone else see this? Or notice it?

  • I watched and also noticed that gesture.....I am sure he will be a little embarrassed when he watches himself on TV.
  • It drove me nuts also - I had to call a couple of my buddies just so they could see this clown. It just made me hope that he would lose.

Manfredi(?) - from Canada - sure played some pretty stupid cards and caught a lot of lucky flops.

Did you see the part where he turned his cards face up showing everyone and was still deciding to call or fold? You would think that if you were going to play in a live televised event you would know play some live action and therefore know some of the rules of live play.
  • Yeah I saw him flip up his cards. He seemed baffled that he couldn't do it cause the other guy was all-in. He was winning with the high pair at the time as well?? I think the other guy was in on the flush draw??
Imagine the tells you would get if that was legal, lol.
  • The whole nose crunching thing was kinda funny. I have 2 sons and everytime Shaw made the expression my almost 7 and 4 year old boys would scrunch up their faces and we would all look at each other and laugh.
I know we're not all there, but I had to share, it was funny!
  • I'm developing a bit of a table manners pet peev while playing online. People who show up to cheer on a buddy, and then end up yacking nonstop for hours. lol It's like having a cellphone ringing all the time in public. Maybe it's just me. lol
