can i be the beaver warmer?

I've been dying to say that. And now that I'm in the big one once again, I'm hoping I can be the beaver warmer for the team. I just won a double shoot out at pokerstars, and I'll see you fine folks in Vegas.

Cheers

    Good luck and have fun!
  • Thanks for the kind words folks -- I'm still higher than a kite.

I told my daughter and she was jumping up and down. Then we're talking and she says, "what place did you come in". I say "first". She says "It must have be a really easy tournament daddy!" Now if the WSOP would be as difficult!

    Cheers

    Kids say the darndest things...

    Congrats, Magi. Best of luck.

Who's setting up the betting action on anyone from here but Gamblor making it to the final table?
  • Good Job!! Congratulations!!

I will bet any pokerforum.ca member $1,000,000 that no pokerforum.ca member makes the final table.

What odds are you laying? Who holds the money? ~5000 entrants. How many from the forum? Hmmm...
  • Congrats Magi, do KW/forum proud.
  • She says "It must have be a really easy tournament daddy!"

Man, that's pretty harsh actually. ;)

    Congrats!

  • I'd be more than willing to hold all monies for the bettors!!!

Nice suckers bet. The odds are good that no top ten player in the world will make the final table.

    ***Edit
BTW.. Congrats Magi. Watched some of your Double shootout win.
  • $1,000,000 is a little low for me. If you want to go $2,000,000 I'll consider it a bet that is possibly worth making.

BTW gamblor, you still owe me five bucks from our Port Perry side action.

Don't think I'm just going to forget about it.
  • I say let it ride for the whole $2,000,005.
The odds are good that no top ten player in the world will make the final table.

I'm wondering what your (and everyone's) intuition is of what these odds would be.

    Would you be willing to lay 1,000 to 1 on such a bet? 100 to 1? 50 to 1? 10 to 1?

If by "the odds are good" you mean there is less than a 50% chance of 10 pre-specified "good" players making the final table, I'd certainly agree with that. But I think people would generally greatly underestimate the chances of this happening, due to the widely accepted "A great player will never win the WSOP again" folklore.

  • I'll bet anyone $25 that Jeff Campbell will win the WSOP 100-1 odds. I'm not kidding, anyone want that action? BTW, he won a trip to Florida last night on Ultimate Bet to play on a cruise ship in a $700 buy-in tournament. Guys on fire...wish I had an emoticon with a guy acutally on fire.....sloth..CO?..

  • Congrats on the big win! Ah, livin' the dream...
  • You the man magi!

Let's have a pokerforum.ca breakfast in Las Vegas!

The original post just said I'll bet anyone a million. Sounded like even money.
Those odds are good that no top ten player will make the final table.
  • Well, let's say they get 3,600 players. So, the odds of any one player winning are 3,599:1. This doesn't take into account whether the player is skilled or unskilled.

I'd certainly take STP's action, but I don't want to rob him of $25. This is not a comment whatsoever about the skill of his 'horse'. 100:1 that ANY player outright wins the WSOP in a field of 3,600 is very very generous, IMO.
  • Great Job Maji

I have tried a couple of the double shootouts but have had no luck yet. I will keep trying so I can join you in Vegas.
