Warning re numerous spam threads lately

Just want to caution you all on the multiple spam posts lately. although they look harmless and in some cases somewhat funny, they are not. The ones that I have investigated link you to a file posted on dodgy websites that will in some cases attach all sorts of nasties to your web browsers.. I actually cleaned up someones computer yesterday that had run one of these (no not you GTA;)) and it was quite complicated to remove. Don't accidentally or curiously click on one of these..

We will continue to delete these as fast as we find them.

The management of this forum can not be held responsible for the consequences of ignoring this warning.>:D

    Well I'm not a programmer (as you are well aware) but I do know that it is a lot more difficult than first appears. Do you want to volunteer to write us a new filter? Making comments in the threads only bumps them to the top, no one but us sees the comments as the original creator never comes back.

    What was the comment about you ever posting supposed to mean? Is that a slam on us? >:D

    havnt seen any of the spam threads but couldnt you make it so you need more than 5 posts to make a thread? or something like that as a workaround.

    actually i guess it doesnt help spam posts, just stops spam threads.
