Myrtle Beach for March Break
So as to not derail the other thread I've created this one.
We are actually staying at Coral Beach during March break. We didn't go last year but went and stayed there two years ago and it was a good time.
We usually drive 2/3 of the way down and then crash in a hotel and then finish up the driving the next day.

P.S. <obligatory poker content> Does anyone know of a casino down in South Carolina that would be close?

No casinos close afaik however there are casino cruises.

No casino's in South Carolina, They are very against gambling and selling alcohol on Sunday's so if you get there on Sunday and you want to stock up on booze it's a no go.
There is a casino or racetrack in Mt Airy North Carolina and there is a Harrah's in North Carolina but they are a fair distance from Myrtle Beach.
There is 2 gambling boats in South Carolina (as you have to out on the water to gamble legally) but I think they are mostly slots and blackjack.
Must go to Damon's restaurant on South ocean boulevard nice view of the ocean, Also Sticky fingers restaurant was good as well.
Drug stores and gas stations on highway 17 along with mini golf of course!
Virginia/West Virginia was the most "dangerous" part,lol. Stopped for gas on a Saturday afternoon and they all come up in their pick up trucks and lined up to get booze (you can get booze at gas stations and walmart down there) as soon as I spoke everyone realized I was not from around there and everybody liked looked, I got the fuck out of there in a hurry after all that. Also where we stopped I am pretty sure their was drug deals going down in the plaza where are hotel was.
Nice scenery but you're in the mountains so make sure you don't run out of gas or you are fucked in some parts.
We have heard good things, however the weather isn't always warm.
We have done Florida several times and this would be our first south Carolina trip.
Our kids are 11, 5 and 2. I guess there should be plenty to do besides mini golf.
I was asking about driving straight through but I am not sure if the kids will drive us crazy. This is why I was considering leaving around 5pm and they could possibly sleep.
The weather is never hot but it is generally better than around here.
My sister's family went down for a week this past Nov and with only two 10 min stops for gas and bathroom managed to do the return trip in just over 13 hours. (St. Catharines)
