Playing the SB at loose, low-limit tables?
Hey, I was just wondering how other people play the SB at loose, low limit tables (ie. Party $.50/$1 or $1/$2)? I was looking at Pokertracker last night, and the number seems high to me at around 51% V$IP. It has been profitable according to the position stats, but it still seems a little loose to me.
I play almost anything suited, and connectors >5, high cards, etc. as long as there's no raise. I think I rationalize it to myself because with 6 or 7 people seeing alot of flops, I've got pot odds to take a look for 1/2 a bet. I still feel that I may be a little too loose on these. Conversely, on Stars, my V$IP from the SB is <30%.
The rest of my game is pretty tight/aggressive, with V$IP <20% from everywhere but the button.
I'm just wondering how it compares to other peoples numbers, and if they feel it is a hole to be patched, or just natural in these loose games?

Drop the connectors and the Offsuit Big littles and you'll be ok..
In general, you have to play the flop very well if you want to play a lot of pre-flop hands against a limped around big field. For example, if you're playing drawing hands like suited Aces, you've got to be able to get away from most flops with an Ace (if your kicker is small and likely to play).
I'd generally play any suited Ace, suited Kings, Queens and Jacks down to an 8 kicker, any pair, unsuited connectors down to 98o, 76o (but not 87o), all suited connectors (yes, even 23s), suited 1-gaps down to 86s, unsuited Aces down to A9o, two face cards, and KTo.
Playing all suited hands is probably even okay, but I just can't seem to bring myself to tossing in even half a small bet with something like 82s. My possible tightness in suited hands is maybe counter-balanced by throwing in a few iffy connected hands (e.g. 76o and 98o) which I've got nothing against someone throwing away.
Probably the "best" hand I've left out of the mix is QTo. Playing this hand is probably okay, but I just don't care for it myself. One might also question not playing all suited Kings, which is another close call. In some games, I'd add such hands (and possibly more) into the playable category.
