Looking for players for a new charity poker league. Tournament cycle will begin on Saturday October 20th, 2014 and run 8 weeks per cycle. Tournament is a $125 buy-in, re-buy, add-on deep stack event. Points will be accumulated weekly and at the end of 8 weeks the top 8 point getters will play a final table for 25% of the weekly buy-ins, re-buys, add-ons... A percentage will also be donated to a charity to be determined by the players.. A good example is sick kids foundation... Tournament organizers will provide beverages, snacks, and dealers... First cycle will begin with 20 players max so please get in touch with us asap if you are interested. Tournament will be played in the Jane / Highway 7 area...

    How much are the rebuy and addons ? How much of the money goes into the prize pool ? How much do the organizer's get ? What are the stack sizes and blind levels ?

    Buy In $125, Rebuy $60, Addon $60.. $75 from buyin goes to weekly pot along with $30 from rebuy and addon, $25 from each buyin and $15 from each rebuy and addon goes to final table pot, $25 goes to organizers from buying along with $15 from each rebuy and addon to pay for poker room, dealers, refreshments, snacks, plus a donation to a charity at the end of each 8 week cycle... Starting stacks are 5k along with a 5k rebuy... blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 18 mins

    So there is a 22% rake each week to the house ? Assuming one rebuy and addon per person.

    Only 56% of the weekly money is up for grabs that week, the other 22% goes to the season finale.

    What if you cannot make all the games ?

    Plus 18min blinds seems rather fast for only 10k in chips to start and if the add on happens after the first 4 levels (25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400) you are only adding on 12 BBs with 5000 chips.

    Or are the blind levels more gradual ?

    Seems like expensive bingo given the structure, in my opinion.

    Yeah that's assuming one rebuy and one add on per person. We have set costs like the rent, dealers, drinks, food etc... Plus our commitment to a charity that will be donated. I'm going to set 1 make up tournament for players that can't make every week to make up some points trust me I hate bingo games as much as anyone. I want to give ppl at least 10000 chips but I would also like it done in 6 hours if possible. The structure isn't set in stone. You seem like you know what's going on. Make a suggestion to me. The blinds weren't set up to double every level they were more gradual. The structure would be 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200 so you would 25 BBs at the add on.... Please make a suggestion. I want to run a good quality real poker tourney. I'm not in it for the money as I will be playing, rebuying I'm sure and adding on. My goal is to start a good deep stack tournament league and help out kids with cancer if we can as my life was recently touched by cancer.     We have about half the starting field registered already. My goal is to have it up to 40 players within 6 months.
