Its pretty clear, and the mods have been pretty consistent.
TROLLING is different than SPAMMING.

Newsgroup and forum[edit]
Main article: Newsgroup spam
Newsgroup spam is a type of spam where the targets are Usenet newsgroups. Spamming of Usenet newsgroups actually pre-dates e-mail spam. Usenet convention defines spamming as excessive multiple posting, that is, the repeated posting of a message (or substantially similar messages)
There is no problem with Bill having a thread strictly dedicated to his game. But I don't need to open every other thread to hear about the GOLD MEMBERSHIPS.
I personally don't have time for spamming now that I have discovered Bill's Gold Membership for only $30. I plan to go pro after I win one of his freeroll tournaments and travel the world playing poker (Freeroll BAP pending). Who will have time for spamming with all this travel, and hanging out with the Royal Flush Girls.
Although I may give up this dream and move to Calgary to open up my own vet clinic...or I could always move to Vancouver and move couches for a living. Either way, I plan to be pretty busy.

Or you could, if you are so inclined, take my moderator job and the fortune it entails, and use it to fund your dream...

The temptation to blow that vast quantity of $$$ on hookers and blow would necessitate the hiring of a life coach to prevent a slow descent into addiction.
I am thinking of a career change and, for only $20.00 a month, I will be offering aspiring pros the benefit of my half century of wisdom . . . wisdom I have gleaned from years spent thinking very hard about it.
I will, of course, be available outside of Bill's place on Freeroll nights to provide 1 free counselling session prior to the start of the evening's event. Judge for yourselves the success of my methods.
I agree with Wetts insofar as we've been pretty consistent on here about what's spam and what's trolling.
Non approved advertising of products/websites is spam. Crossposting is a subset of spam. Repetitive and excessive posting about something not relevant to a particular thread is spam.
I think pretty much 99% of the people on this forum know what constitutes spam/trolling/crossposting, etc.
As far as anyone thinking this is a public place and they are straight shooters and can say what they want or you can screw off, that's bullshit and I wouldn't push it or you'll be talking to yourself trying to figure out why you can't log in. Just like every other spammer/dump seller/cheap t shirt seller, etc. who's done it in the past.
From the forum rules:
"6. No advertising of online poker rooms, poker forums, poker products, online casinos, affiliate sites, or any other product in which you are profiting from without consent from an admin. Do not post links to sites (affiliate links etc) advertising of webpages which serve little purpose other than to advertise online poker sites or have little relevant content. The same applies to private messages, and registering with a username that itself is an advertisement (unless you are an approved advertiser)
7. No needless thread bumping (replying to your own post to bring others attention to it)
8. No cross posting this is when you make the same post in multiple sections of the forum"
I think Comp and I are pretty damn good about enforcing these and showing discretion as well when necessary.
