Playground
Any one going to this? I may be able to get the time off. Any one looking for car pooling or taxi sharing please pm details, I wish they had a hotel right across the street I would pay triple to avoid the commute in! Or bring back the bus service they had for the earlier events. Also anyone stay the hotel bossard? I am coincidering not staying downtown, the commute in and out gets to be a bit much

I was looking at getting there the sat night and only playing day 1c . If i bust i would still stay and play cash for two days.
I'll email my regular BAP investors about the $1,100 event with possible overlay if I'm able to go.
Looks like a dive............ But.......... It is only 1.6 kms to the playground.
I do hate that trip across the bridge when 1000 degens are all trying to get to playground at the same time.

In terms of accommodations, I haven't booked anything yet but airbnb has a lot of good deals. If dates worked out and someone want to split costs, they also have some 2br places available.
Motel Rustik looks just fine if you plan on just sleeping and playing poker.

What didnt you like about the pllayground ??
You seem to be the only person on the interweb with negative things to say about the playground. Wonder what it could possibly be.
Confirmed. No one hates playground.
Probably thinks its rigged or something. He was likely on the wrong side of their RNG.
1) After a school meeting on August 28, I would make a beeline with my car almost as old as compuease for the 5-6 hour drive. To avoid falling asleep on the highway, I'll have to take a nap OnRoute, but I hope to arrive at Playground by 8 PM to play one or more satellites.
2) Play Day 1A on August 29, 11 AM, and when my 1A is over, immediately drive back to the GTA.
3) My roommate and I have to be back in Toronto the following morning for the CNE Casino Championship Final. He's using his reward points to fly back.
4) Instead of playing online or the $550 BCC DS on Sunday, spend it with family at Canada's Wonderland to watch the fireworks, ride on SkyRider a final time before it gets dismantled, and pig out on funnel cakes & foot-long hotdogs.
5) Since I expect to make it to Day 2, I will have to make the late night drive back to Kahnawake to continue playing on Labour Day Monday at noon.
Doable or crazy?
It's not worth killing yourself (or others) literally for, or trying to play a focused game after driving in a trance for 6 hours.
Step 4 seems wonderful, and think it's the best part of your plan.

I knew my friend made the final table, but judging from the above photo full of Fallsview/Brantford regs (including a forumer), the bracelet winner is probably from the GTA too.
Unfortunately, I won't be going to this Festival.

I'm sure it's hard to tell exactly if they are going to fall short or not, and giving away free seats doesn't really help them reach it, but it should attract a lot of ppl to their SNG sats.
I'm sure they don't make a killing on tournaments as it is, they probably hope to reach the gtd, fill the room, then hopefully get everyone in a cash game afterwards.
