2014 World Series of Drunk Degenerate Gambling and Video Games

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 27th @ 12:30PM
$100

Hamilton mountain, near Mohawk College.
(35min from cambridge, 50 from kit, 30 from milton and 40 from missisauga)

We came up with this ridiculous idea and it has evolved into what I hope will be a great time. Not expecting a huge turnout, but as always I like to throw it up here to see if anyone is interested.

$100 Buy In covers the whole day worth of events. The main attractions will be a Pot Limit Omaha tournament at 3PM, and a NL Hold Em tournament at 8:30PM.

Leading up the tourneys listed above, there are side events which include poker, card games, and video games. You will play 5 side events of your choosing, from a total of 9 options. By winning these side events, you will win extra chips for your stack in one of the main tourneys, and will also accumulate points.

PLO winners will receive 30% of the prize pool, NL winners will win 40%, and the 2 players at the end of the day with the highest point total will share the remaining 30%.

Very nice graphics but could use some animation...

tapatalk puts this here to annoy YOU
  • great minds think alike... or fools seldom differ?

anyway, I believe what Greg meant to say was "IN!"

edit: PS did you ship the brantford entry last night?
  • Sick idea bififllffmaaff

    I like the sponsors lol
  • In but you forgot the drunk part. Drop chess for beer shotgun challenge. Fastest time takes first.
  • i do have some chip incentives for drinking planned*...But I love the shotgun challenge idea. I think I might actually add that in. I know more alcoholics than chess players so its win win.

(*Not that they are needed.. Think I was 10-12 shots deep in the last game we had!)
  • Why do I work on Saturdays WTF!!!? This sounds so fun, I'd almost just show up late at night anyway....have fun everyone!
  • ^ hoping to run a cash game afterwards, assuming anyone is still standing. more than welcome to join!

Considering that in 2006 you were painting and replacing windows, by now have you replaced your entire house and retrospectively should you not have just saved time and burnt the entire thing to the ground when you bought it?

Nope. As much as I complain about the work, I like my house. Hate the cookie cutter homes you get these days.
  • ^ agreed. my house is 65 years old and a huge pain in the ass sometimes... but at least it isn't made out of cardboard like the new ones.
  • over 100
  • But how old is the house?
  • What is the location??

  • as I kind of expected, a few guys so far can't make it on the long weekend. Feeling out the following weekend (6th) with the group - dj/moose that work for you guys?
  • Dunno depends of wife's work.

I'm expected to take part in drunk degenerate gambling before I leave for Vegas?

    Not fair to liver.

oh yeahhhh... like stretching right before running a marathon, may as well get it warmed up
  • long w/e doesn't work for me anymore.
  • yeah I think that has been the consensus. going to postpone this event for a better turnout.

DJ we'll probably still play a regular game on Saturday night - I'll keep you posted.
  • New tentative date Sat Sept 27 - Aiming to confirm that by next weekend.
  • This is such a great idea. I wouldn't be up for it myself, but it is a neat concept.

I hope you get it off the ground.
  • Date confirmed, we'll be playing this Sept 27, rain or shine.

Thanks! Should be a great time.

Is there anything specifically that is stopping you from playing?
  • Not knowing how to play any of the games (in my case) - but I think it will be a great event for all! Enjoy and give detailed reports!
  • For a newbie - might I recommend the following choices:

    1. OFC - get the app for your phone, learn in 5 min. addictive and fun
    3. Hold Em - No problem!
    5. PLO - 2 extra cards. piece of cake.
    7. Beer Challenge - It's just beer!
    8. T Blackjack - first time playing for all of us
    10. Need For Speed - Played with a steering wheel - just like driving a car.
    11. Hold Em - No problem!

    EZ Game!!!!
  • Brutal... May have to postpone this again. Were getting butt raped at work and I may have to go in on Sat.

If that is the case, this will become a PLO tourney around 8pm.
