Ruling

Playing a home game tourney. All players are reasonable and the buy in was over $100. On the river player Hero bets, player A re raises, Hero makes no declaration drops a re raise and says I need to see where I am. Player A tables his cards. What should the ruling be here.

IN the end it didn't matter as I took it down but just curious what others think about this.

  • I guess I should have said all players reasonable except me.... because I am the super donk of CPF.
  • Action is still open. 10 round penalty to follow completion of the hand

  • My favourite TDA Rule!
60: Exposing Cards and Proper Folding
A player who exposes his cards with action pending may incur a penalty, but will not have a dead hand. The penalty will begin at the end of the hand...

In this specific case, the hand continues as normal. If A does not have a history of being an angle shooter or this was a first time mistake, a warning is given out such as by Matt Savage. WPT Fallsview did not know this rule and improperly killed mistakenly exposed hands, costing players thousands of dollars! Giving a 10-round penalty for an honest mistake may be even worse than improperly killing one hand.

  • That's what I thought the rule was BlondeFish. The player has no history of angle shooting and apparently 1 other thought I had just called. They ruled Player A had to call and further action was dead. As I had the 2nd nuts to his nuts and seen his cards it made no difference. The pot was his.
  • Are you saying player A had to call, couldn't fold or raise again? Doesn't seem right to me. As per common sense, play should have been able to continue as normal.

And I think the penalty to Joe should have been 20 rounds. >:D
  • Yes Compu that was how they ruled. No penalty was given.
