  • The_Game, JordanGM & I play this great-value $130+$20 tournament regularly, as the fee of 13% is lower than all the $60-$160 and even $180 tournaments. OLGpoker.com and Brantford needs to get feedback that it should have basic information such as starting chips and level length posted. It is 10,000 chips and 20 minutes.

I'll be grinding online this Sunday to stop sn1perb0y from nagging me to death, ;) so I probably won't be playing at Brantford until May 13 + 15, 19, 22, 25 & 27.
  • thanks blondefish. would you also happen to know the bounty amount? you'd think that brantford would post this kind of stuff.
  • Wow, you really need to give Brantford that feedback form to put all these basic info for its tourneys! It's $25 bounty.

Aside from not using TDA Rules, Brantford fails to show the number of players registered on the tournament screen so as soon as somebody is eliminated, players are not sure if the number of players or prize pool is correct. No wonder Waltsfriend was shortchanged the wrong first place amount if so much info is hidden. :(

  • I checked the online poker calendar for OLG Brantford, and they don't even have the 2nd half of May and none of Junes schedule up yet. They need to get on this. All the other casinos are updated, I wonder why not Brantford yet?

Yeah I noticed that as well when I was trying to make up a possible summer schedule for live events. Ideally I'd like to play one a week but in reality it'll probably be less than that.

Is that for all tournaments BlondeFish? I am thinking of playing the $125 on Sunday of the Long weekend.... couldn't find that basic info either.
  • Since I'm always willing to give poker content to trigs et al, here is the poker info that Brantford/OLGpoker.com should be providing:
All "Deep Stack" tournaments have starting chips of 15,000, including the $100+$25 DS on May 18. All $100-$200 tourneys have 20-minute levels. 10,000 chips is for all the non-DS $100-$200 tourneys.

I play all the Brantford $130+ tourneys since the higher buy-ins have more beatable fees. The April - July schedule has been available at Brantford for awhile, so Brantford needs to be reminded to post this info on OLGpoker.com. There are nine good-value tourneys I would want to play for each of June & July (except for Las Vegas & other event conflicts).

    Run good and Happy B-day!!!
  • only had 55 runners today. i guess the rest were hanging with their mommies.

finished 13th after losing an all in flip with 99 vs AK. took home 3 bounties for $75 though so made half the buy-in back at least.

i feel like i played okay. was card dead for most of it so finishing 13th isn't too bad.

a few hands of note: had pocket AAs hold twice after calling two different all ins. my favourite hand i had 55 in the BB. folded around to the CO who raises it up. folded to me and i call. flop comes 999 and i check call another bet. turn is a 7 and villain goes all in. i tank call after convincing myself that this villain has cbet every time and has shown he'll keep firing with nothing. he flips over AK and blanks the river and i win a nice pot.

worst hand: i'm on button with KQs and i misread the action thinking that there was a raise and call ahead of me and i fold. it turns out it was a call call. flop comes KKQ and the fireworks go off. i end up losing out on a ton of chips after BB shows K3 after hitting a 3 on the turn. oh well, it is what it is.

    just realized this. that's eerie.
  • I live in Burlington and I plan on playing some of these tournaments when I can. I plan on going to the May 27th $150 bounty.
  • What time does the tourney start and how long does it take to finish 13th?

i'd definitely recommend them. even the bounty tournament was deepish and had decent play in it. also, the competition really isn't the strongest minus a handful of decent players.

the sunday ones start at 11am every week. with 55 runners and finishing 13th i think i was done around 4pm.

with 80 runners and finishing 4th last time, i think i was done around 6pm iirc.
  • Anyone going August 3rd?
  • I was going to play tonight's Bounty to pick up my One Direction tickets from a player, but that got delayed, so I'm not sure now. There were 22 seats left when I phoned but will probably sell out as usual.

    what about Sunday Blondfish?
  • Sunday is the most important day of the week for online shot-takers, so I've already informed my relatives that I can go to family functions any day except for Sunday. The next tournaments I'll play at Brantford will probably be the $130 Super Satellites and $160 Deep Stack.

  • Anybody playing in tomorrow's Deep Stack? My tween-assigned duty of finding good seats for *&^%$#@! One Direction sold-out concert has caused me to miss the Mega Overlay Satellites to the Montreal Festival this weekend, and is now forcing me to go to Brantford tomorrow. 34 seats have been sold already.

I was supposed to be with another forumer at CNE Casino earlier who is now playing the SNGs there, but *&^%$#@! 1D claimed there are suddenly tickets available, but I could find none in the terrible TicketSCALPER site where it just keeps asking you to type in hard-to-decipher security words for every single *&^%$#@ search. OK, it's time channel my :rage: at the CNE donks....

Try morning of the concert, some tickets that were previously set aside/reserved would get released. Also check Stubhub as people may get desperate and prices will drop closer to concert time.
  • I think one of our fine forum mods shipped the BCC Tuesday event yesterday.

Not sure he posts here very often tho ^^^^^^^^^^^^

    All good, I'll just call.
  • All good, I'll just call.

cool thanks man, let me know what they say.
  • You can tell by your confirmation number how many seats have been sold. For example, when I bought over the phone for a friend for a previous tournament, we were given #33 and #34, so there were 34 seats sold.
    Good luck.
