Thoughts:

Afterwards, I wasn't happy making the call pre-oop. However, here we are multi-way oop and flopped a huge draw.

I had a plan to check raise the flop after flopping the huge draw but once the c-bet came so small I decided to call flop and decide turn. Once the K hit the turn my plan was to rep it and check raise, basically a delay from the flop play which was my original plan, which I did on the turn. Once I hit my flush on river, I was happy getting it in on the river.

OK, wanting your thoughts on the hand and the thought process in general? Raise and bet sizing?

Comments

  • The call on the flop was totally fine, 50bbs deep multi-way pot.
    With 4 people in,

I usually check/raise with a big sizing on flop, my main reason is that its cheaper on flop, and there is still two street where i can evaluate on. Also getting rid of back doors, 2nd pairs and get heads-up with one opponent which makes the situation easier to evaluate , narrow ranges of villain etc..

The way it was played, I think sizes are fine, i think 2.5x (rather than 3x) raise on turn would do the same effect, that way if you don't hit you can still bluff jam with more fold equity on certain cards on the river.

Your line makes more sense, I had every intention of check raising flop facing a bigger c-bet. The small bet through me for a bit of a loop. Good point about making it 2.5x on turn vs 3x.
